Think they're one of the clubs that charge you what you charge them aren't they?

Oh that makes sense, I didn't think it was that much last time I went

That concept needs to be knocked on the head for what it is…bullsh*t.

No one goes up to Yorkshire (or Bristol) and expects to pay the same for a pint because they are from London. Operating costs are much lower outside London, and so is the price of things everywhere…apart from Bristol’s ticketing policy apparently.

Nonsense. Their margin on these tickets is much more than ours.

Also, it's not like we set QPR's ticket prices is it?

Bristol City and QPR generally charge 30+ quid and still manage to lose the thick end of 50 million a year between them. Where's it all going?

No, but we do pay them, which sets a bit of a precedent.

City did a reciprocal pricing deal with Leeds after Leeds wanted £37(?) for the game at Elland Road. Adult tickets were £30 in the end.

City are toppy as far as Championship away tickets go. Probably more than 50% of clubs in the division this season have sold out or will sell-out the away end (3,400), and plenty of others bring ~2,000+, so I'm sure that City would use that to justify charging away fans so much.

Ahhh maybe that's where I got the idea they do a reciprocal/retaliatory pricing strategy thing...

Yeah, I think it was City fans getting on their club's case about the pricing and Leeds then offering the reciprocal deal. I think Leeds have done it with a few clubs - presumably because their fans get the old Cat A fleecing everywhere they go, on account of being the biggest club in the world.

I thought they could only charge what they charged their own fans sitting in similar seats?

At City, the South Stand, opposite the away end is pretty much all season tickets, and tickets are very rarely available there, but when they do pop up, they're £35 for adults. Season tickets in there are £400 for adults, so about £17 a game. I presume that as there are hardly ever tickets available in that stand, they can charge £35 for the few seats that do become available, and then charge away fans £35 for the comparable view etc. Sneaky gits.

Didn't Hoos turn down this offer from Leeds?

Mind you, as much as I detest them, it is guarenteed that Leeds will sell out at LR & so it was a decision I could understand financially.
