"a diseased bunch of mofos if there ever was one, their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons."
- Lester Bangs on The Beach Boys
The club statement only says we've agreed with Antwerp for the permanent transfer of Frey and that the transfer is subject to a work permit and international clearance. I assume that means the contract has not yet been signed. The club will presumably publish the length of contract when all is done and dusted.
Well, the one good thing is that we're not going to tell him he's had a bad game! Even Vinnie Jones would get him his breakfast :)
I like all the how are you looking forward to playing in the championship questions. I was expecting him to say, yes well we only have about 17 games left in it.
I think it was the CEO, Luke Littler, who mentioned the "effort" that Michael had put into making this deal happen that suggests it's not currently at "market rate" or maybe terms, albeit in the world of football finance, but that he was prepared to take what was on the table to join us.
When that enticing delivery from Chair came in from the corner and flashed across the 6 yard box in the first half and there was nobody near it I thought to myself Michael would be on the end of that type of delivery.
Looking forward to his first goal celebration, next week...
In his interview on the offy, he didn't sound like he'd be ready for next weekend. But he's been training with Antwerp's reserves all season so can be too far off being available.
I mean he was never going to play for Antwerp again so long as Van Bommel was there and as he said, chance to come and try English football. I’m sure he will end up getting an extension for next season in L1.
We must have a reputation in the football world as being a club not to touch with a barge pole amongst agents and players who want to progress.
I’m just a bit suspicious there must be a fault somewhere that we are taking a risk on otherwise he’d be moving to clubs higher up the league surely? Especially in a goal scoring striker drought.
Hopefully we’ve just been lucky and he smashes the granny out of it.
