So who is going to sign up to fight the war?

General Sir Patrick sanders warned the British public they will be called up to fight in the event of a war because the military is too small

Time to start smashing the gym chaps (and I don't mean the mal)

It's coming

I’m unsure todays generation or even the one before will be out of their pyjamas before 2pm.

And then it’s ‘mummy, where’s my breakfast’

They could fight a war on X but in real life I don't think so.

England are our best friends (and family) but the relationship cannot remain based on the defeat of wales by force of arms some hundreds if years ago.

As equal modern European nations then we can work together, but the London knows best model cannot and will not stand up to the modern challengers. Its dead - they steal our HS2 money, undermine our Welsh Govt, and refuse to make safe the coal tips. Where is the benefits ?
Ireland got rid one hundred years ago.

There are many recently renewed nations across Europe and England/Wales needs to modernise or its Indy Wales. The recent commission said exactly the same.

Lots of older posters hate the thought of an equal Wales, they even think its a principality. A staggering level of ignorance.it does not matter though ,as the
Majority under 40 are self confiident and Indy minded. And the futures theirs.

No - no walls like Brexit built, just bridges to build a modern reformed and levelled up UK in Europe.

And the Prince of Wales title has to go.

An independent Wales only supported by 20 of the Welsh population. The other 80% see the advantages of being part of a strong UK will a he benefits.

They clearly see independence and then surrendering it the EU would lead to huge trade barriers with the rest of the UK plus of course customs and passport controls on all border crossings.

Poll: Sholud Wales rollout vaccination at full speed.

Same issues that were raised in regard to Brexit.

Perhaps the WAG should start writing stuff on the side of buses and saying not to worry as it’ll be the easiest deal in history as they hold all the cards. Stuff like that.

I’m anti-independence atm but it will be interesting to see how long it takes after the boarder changes that come into force on Thursday for everything to settle down.

We now know the separate trade deals have not been going well, so ease of trade with the EU is really important.

The recent commission said indy was VIABLE but that there would be a financial hit, Wales would be worse off financially for the short to medium term, how many years that actually means is anybodys guess.

When the UK did that brexit thing you moaned, said it was idiocy to make ourselves worse off yet that is exactly what you keep pining for, a Wales that is worse off for who knows how long. There would be walls too, wall between us and the EU inless or until we gained membership which would also take years and then a possible hard border with our biggest trading partner, England. You said Brexit was crazy yet you wish for something even worse, how crazy is that?

You make crass claims all the time with no evidence, or can you provide evidence for the uner 40's?
Us older posters want a better Wales, a Wales fit for our children and not the economic wasteland the Senedd is turning it into. And then there's people like you who are desperate to make it even worse.

Why stop at wales? Let us not rest until the kingdoms of Glywysing, Deheubarth, Gwynedd etc get their freedom back too.

Why stop there, go back to the Silures and the Demetae, Kilkenny makes out he wants a modern Wales but he'd build it on foundations over 2000 years old, though Wales was conqueree then, the Silures probably accepted terms with Rome, Tacitus saying non atrocitate, non clementia mutabatur

The Wales Kilkenny wants never existed and never will.

Wanting the decisions the impact your nation to be taken in your nation, by people of your nation, for the benefits of the people of you nation is just normal.

The reason Wales is always poor is due to the fact that we have London rule.
What Wales needs is never their priority.

My vision is a modern vision.
Many European nations have updated themselves in the recent past.
The London rule model has failed us.

Why you are looking back to the Roman Empire only you can answer. Are you a bit twp ?

Ah and ther you go again, not understanding the point. The Wales you spout about never existed, it was never a nation, it was disparate tribes who constantly fought each other. I thought your favourite song was Yma O Hyd, that harks back to Roman times but when others do it, it's twp? Magnus Maximus was Roman.

Wales is even poorer after 25 years of devolution than it was before, our economy is worse, our infrastructure is worse, education, health all worse.

You'd vote for indy tomorrow even though it would be even worse for Wales than Brexit has thus far been for the UK and you suggest that others are twp?

What the future can look like is not bounded by the past.
Only a fool would think that ….

When the heavy industry closed then the London govt failed Wales.
Left us to rot.

Our Welsh Government at least puts Wales needs first.

Look what the London government did in covid, put englands needs above scotland and wales.
Such an approach might even have cost lives.

Plus the great train money robbery.

You cant see that they dont give a toss about wales, fair enough thats your uninformed view.
Evidence leads to a different place.

Do you think the lot in the Senedd will bring back heavy industry?

Considering that every policy being implemented/enforced in Wales is driven purely by the drive for net zero then I would be more than confident to say that the days of heavy industry in Wales is now just a distant memory.

Yet again you are wrong, show me where I say anything good about the London government? In fact show me where I do anything hut criticise politicians of whatever party?

What the future looks like....I agree but its you who keeps harking back to a Wales that never existed.

The Welsh government puts itself and Cardiff's needs ahead of the rest of Wales. It is ruining Wales so much that young people want to leave. They are helping estminster turn Wales ino an English retirement home.

lastly, I apologise to the Op for going off topic and remind you, Kilky, tis is a thread about a citizen army.

Poll today of the u45’s in the UK and Cymru is doing us proud.
Wales is no longer prepared to fight England’s wars.

‘The poll found the area with the highest proportion of refuseniks was Wales where 59% said they refuse to be conscripted. Some 58% said they would refuse in the East of England, 54% in Yorkshire and Humber and 52% in North West England.

South West England had just 35% who said they’d refuse to be conscripted, the lowest proportion, followed by Scotland on 41% and the West Midlands and East Midlands on 43%’.

false assumptions yet again, it's not just Wales politicians dont care about. In fact it's more about what they do care about which is themselves, 100% self serving, greedy b....

My point about history is, and you clearly don't get it, in over 2000 years humanity has kept on repeating the same old mistakes over and over. Where you are right is, it doesn't have to be that way but sadly it has been.

The elites have been shafting the ordinary person for millenia, we have changed in so many ways but our base behaviour hasn't.

You keep going on to me about Westminster as if I am it's biggest supporter, do you actually read my posts?

Where you are wrong is about the Senedd, they don't put Wales first, they put its South East corner first, they put their needs and desires ahed of the rest of us.
If that wasn't true then why would they not be listening when so many people are apparently against raising the number of MS's? When so many people are against the waste of money that is CWL?

The Senedd's priorities are what's best for them. Look at Lee Waters, allegedly making a false statement on his candidacy form about his address AND telling the rest of us we need to get out of our cars and walk, cycle or use public transport all while he's claiming tems of thousands of miles on expenses, driven in his own car. He's a classic case of do as I say not as I do.

What we have in the Senedd is the poundhsop version of Westminster, it has a fraction of the budget and moans it wanst more but then wastes tens of millions on pet projects, they are just as self interested and self serving as Westminster and only a fool cannot see that.

PS, Drakefords approachprobably cost more lives than needed to be too. The care home debacle here, closing parts of shops down so you could buy beer and cigs but you couldn't buy chldren clothes, utterly stupid.

The Senedd has tp put Wales first, if not Indy will.

Its a certainty that Tory London will never put Wales first.

The Senedd has to...? Then why doesn't it? How can you hope to ever get indy without the Senedd and Westminster agreing to the vote?

Maybe, after the next GE we will see a Labour government and maybe things will change.
