I'm sure when he left for Reading he was 8 feet tall.

His career massively stalled at Reading.

I always like him except he would often find touch with his goal kicks.

Good luck to him after Saturday

18 month deal and becomes their new number one. Can see why he's taken the offer. He was brilliant for us and I would've taken him back in a heartbeat.

I think it is a bit far to say he was brilliant for us. I agree he was better than most we have since he left, but he has his weakness. For a big bloke he was weak on crosses and didn't command his area, and beaten easily on long range shots. I hope we can expose these on Saturday.

Mike Walker stood head a shoulders above big Sam in the goalie stakes, has did Chamberlain and Graham Smith .

bwildered - don't disagree with any of your goalkeeping choices.
Just don't forget Aidan Davison.
One of his many brilliant saves was at Scunny where he made a Gordon Banks style save.

Just don't mention Ewood Park!

Absolutely!
Excellent selected list bwildered plus Aidan Davison Durham.
All I'd say underlining the list would be to ensure Graham Smith and Sandy Kennon were there.

We've had a few decent keepers.

And best of all was the late Percy Ames.

Cannot comment on Percy Ames sadly, Tony Macedo was in goal for my first visit.
But will give a special mention to Tom McAlister, who came on loan at the end of the 1989 season, he was a great organiser and communicator to the back four, which made his job much easier. Think Davidson was very much in the same mould .

Tom McAlister! Finally a keeper I saw play! He was tremendous for us at the back end of that 1988/89 season.
