We’ll see Saturday. Have to admit, I’d usually not be concerned about playing a backup keeper in a game like that, but it is possible Williams sees him as key to starting off moves.

Sheehan selected the team. That’s been confirmed both on this site and by Williams himself after the game.

The goalkeeper selection for Birmingham will be interesting.

Hope not.
Why would Rushworth be benched to allow Fisher to stand between the sticks .
The thought is horrendous

It’s not going to happen, believe me.

Even Martin binned Fisher ultimately, the guy is a disaster every game.

Nope, won’t happen!

I don’t think it will either. Just a slight little worry because of his past with Martin.

I doubt Naughton will start and Grimes won’t too.

Naughton won’t, but Grimes? Come on, he’s every managers’ first name on the team sheet. Hope you’re right though unless of course LW can drill some forward movement into him between now and Saturday.

I didn’t phrase that well.

What I meant was Naughton started, Grimes didn’t. I would expect both to be the other way around Saturday. And Rushworth in goals.

Won’t happen unless someone comes in for him. Which I doubt.

Ckeith.
He is that inept, I would seriously loan him out . He could do a job in League 2 at Sutton Utd or Forest Green though the more physical nature of that level would kill him.
He lacks basic courage

…in the coast four minutes of the Liverpool v Arse game, we saw what a real goalkeeper does with a corner undervoressurel
He claims it ,then holds it. Then calms it down.

Then they go down the pitch and break away and bury the ball into the net

It was noted in the summer, hence Rushworth.

But he’s not ours Keith.
He’s a terrific young keeper .
If he were to get injured or recalled,it would have significant affect .
IMO

Fisher was fine (nothing special) when not behind suicidal kamikaze defending

Of course he was.

In the absence of defeat however Perchy has to vent somewhere.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Just an aside do footballers get their eye sight tested very often, I don't mean to be funny it just seems as Fisher loses the flight of the ball which seems to affect shot stopping, his reaction to get his body or fists behind the ball, holding onto shots and descion making, while the ball is being crossed into the box. Surely it is not just his confidence is shot, can it?
Edit.. sorry if that comes across as a bit harsh.

Whisper it quietly, he’s ok when we’re not involving him in risky passes in our box. He’s not Rushworth level, but as a backup he’s absolutely fine. I’d guess he’s better than most Championship teams second choices.

Do you realise ,he's a keeper not a sweeper,it's a bonus if he can play at back, but his main job is to come for crosses command his 6 yard box, come off his line close angles down,he does none of them,he's also got holes in his hands as we seen at Luton last tear and a few other times,he's not a very good keeper at all.

It has been common practice for us to use our 2nd choice keeper in the early cup rounds.
Dai Cornell, Nordfeldt etc had their only appearances in such matches.
Tremmel in fact continued right through to a Wembley final.
What an over reaction on playing a keeper in much need of match practice and a lift in confidence.
A clean sheet can only help towards that.

The first part is exactly what I said. The run at the end of last season where we went to a back four and didn’t use him in intricate passing moves backs it up.

I said he’s ok, not as good as Rushworth but absolutely fine as a backup.

I don't agree dint think he's nowhere near good enough for the reasons of basics as a keeper..

If it wasn’t for Fisher and his mistakes over the last eleven games or so last season we would have been in the play off mix.

Plenty of other reasons, mostly more compelling as to why we didn't make the play offs.

I mentioned the last eleven games and the subject is Fisher.
