When you play Football Manager over time players retire so to keep the player database full the game creates new, faceless players called like Dave Dave to fill the gaps. They're called Regens as sometimes they are the reincarnation of players like Messi

My impression from the sale of good young players who have done well in the Norwegian Elite league is that they aren't cheap, likely to go for £2 M plus and then they tend to go to Belgium or Holland before, if they do well, onto bigger Leagues, Germany, Spain, Italy, perhaps the Championship. Then the Championship is I think higher quality than the Norwegian top League so it's a gamble as well to take a player doing well there into the Championship hoping he will be a real success short term. I think they keep the young ones with potential under contract pretty well too. I know less of Swedish football than the little I know of Norwegian, but suspect it is fairly similar.

The typical QPR thing would be to lash out some wages on another player, loan out 3, and find ourselves staying up by the skin of our teeth. If we're going to do things differently now, there's something to be said about saying no to new faces and keeping the squad the same unless we have leavers.
Genuinely curious if other clubs make as many nostalgia signings/appointments as we do. It’s been going on for years and rarely works out well but we seem to do it time and time again.
Maybe we won’t sign Freeman but it wouldn’t be a massive surprise if we do based upon recent history and it just feels like another lazy attempt to build goodwill with the fans rather than trying to run a competent and competitive football club.

Out of contract and willing to sign a short term contract. Would be a useful signing til the end of the season. Shouldn't effing need to though, there should be enough quality in the development squads and bloody Richards. But if it came to a toss up to bringing Freeman on in midfield, or uncs....

Fair point and probably depends whether Freeman’s fit enough to do a job. But he’s not played regular first team football over the past few years which doesn’t bode well.
Totally agree re development squads btw.

If he’s fit and wants to play then put him in a performance related contract till the end of the season. As our so called “strikers” can’t score play Freeman as a false 9 interchanging with Smyth and Willock in a 4-3-3 with Chair feeding them.
At the very least he’s a useful option off the bench
It’s hardly the second coming of Lee Cook but you know what, given poor Ziyad’s baptism of fire in that position against Cardiff I’d give Luke a contract until the end of the season. Knows the club and the ground/fans and presumably can still put a cross in. Can he take corners?
