MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration 09:15 - Nov 29 with 11718 views | Northernr | Seriously, help. How on earth do you grade that? At 79 minutes I don't think I had anybody north of a 5/10.
MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 09:19 - Nov 29 with 8081 views | Airtomoreira | Can't help as I wasn't there. However, hope you'll be awarding MOM to the Ref!
MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 09:22 - Nov 29 with 8037 views | TheChef | I'll try... Bad (5 or less) - Dunne, Paal, Colback, Chair Average (6) - Begovic, Kakay, Field, Dykes, Smyth Good (6 or more) - EDB, Cook, Willock, Cannon Can't really mark the other subs if they played less than 20 minutes? Honourable mention for Larkeche making the 3rd goal.

MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 09:23 - Nov 29 with 8034 views | ellersliehoop | It would still be 5/10 after the full 97 minutes to be honest...... Though Cannon & Willock improved us when they came on..........that's about it
MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 09:24 - Nov 29 with 8020 views | francisbowles | Just posted my ratings for the match and I know exactly what you mean I thought Colback was the best of the bunch, up to that point. He kept getting in to try and win the ball and move it forward with no stupid tackles. Yellow was one for the team. I really struggled with Dykes and Willock especially. Larkeche, I gave a cheeky ten, for his massive impact and ten for the referee.
MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 09:29 - Nov 29 with 7973 views | stevec | Me neither, I’d stay with those figures. Bottom line, we were up against 10 men, a ref who whilst doing a good job, if I was a Stoke fan I’d be going borderline mental, and as a team, we still largely look a bit of a mess. Who do you put above 5? Dykes effectively turned the game for us with a goal you’ll be lucky to see him repeat ever again, whilst having turned the game in the opposite direction with that appalling ‘finish’ in the first half. Larkeche for his cameo role, Reggie ditto, JCS, god help us, I’m a little jaded about cameo roles, perhaps reserve a better mark when they do a full 90 minutes. Nice of the old Willock to show up temporarily but, again, ten men? Stick to your guns, taking aside us finally getting a result at home, it wasn’t good.
MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 09:30 - Nov 29 with 7982 views | GaryBannister86 | Begovic 5 (ordinary effort at their second) Kakay 6 Dunne 5 (another blunder) Cook 7 Paal 6 Smyth 6 (good dive) Field 6 Colback 6 EDB 6 Chair 7 Dykes 7 (better game, 2 goals not to be sniffed at) Cannon 7 (promising....) Lakarche 7 (wonderful determination) Kelman 6 (has he grown?) JCS 6 (didn't get injured) Willock 7 (kick on, lad) Ref 10 Crowd 10 to all those who attended, well deserved
MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 09:30 - Nov 29 with 7970 views | ngbqpr | Cannon - major impact, a little more than Willock, tho he both improved us and reacted well to being benched after a run of starts. I thought Cook was pretty solid throughout. I think they're the only three who for me would be 6 or more based on their entire time on the pitch. Ultimate curate's egg performance was Colback, veering from sublime to ridiculous by the second. The Larkeche cameo, however, was sensational...and I'm sure we're all praying, season-changing...

MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 09:30 - Nov 29 with 7963 views | ParkRoyalR | Which is why I went for Reggie Cannon, with a special mention for Larkeche's Junior Hoilett Play-Off Final moment, Thought my man had a decent game with his head-up play and being our only outlet at times winning some key headers and knock-downs, but that miss could have been career ending at ours,
MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 09:32 - Nov 29 with 7944 views | dmm | Give Cifuentes the MotM award. He won the game for us.
MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 09:36 - Nov 29 with 7912 views | BrianMcCarthy | Begovic-6 (Could do nothing about the two goals, commanded his box well) Kakay-6 Centre-backs generally looked solid against a dangerous Stoke forward line. Cook-7 (would have been an 8 but for being slow out to Burger for the second goal) Dunne-5 (would have been a 6 or 7 except for two costly errors) Paal-6 (quieter than normal, due to first-half tactics) Centre-mid three were quiet in the first half but I thought that was because our tactic was to drop deep to protect ourselves against Stoke's pace and to hit them on the break. Colback-6 (7 in patches, but not consistent enough for an overall 7, also lost Burger for their second, slightly unlucky with their first but technically still lost it) EDB-6 (another promising display, but no more than that) Field-6 Smyth-5 (shades of 5, but forced Stevens into bad fouls so +1. but -1 for that miss...) Dykes-7 (shades of 7, shades of 8, but that miss..) Chair-7 (generally very good, but set pieces...) Subs: Willock 7 Salter 7 Cannon 7 Larkeche 7 Kelman 6 Best of luck with your MOTM!

MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 09:44 - Nov 29 with 7838 views | daveB | I thought Paal had a good game but his corners were awful so should be marked down for that I'd go with Cannon or Chair Honorable mention to JCS who I thought changed the game [Post edited 29 Nov 2023 9:45]

MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 09:44 - Nov 29 with 7832 views | CateLeBonR | Maybe you should let gazza do the ratings this week. Then we can all have a good moan at him ;) I had Cook as MOM I thought he was excellent. He was berating Kakay first half for not getting into good positions to collect the ball from him. Can’t really blame Kakay for that as it’s not really his game. Once Cannon came on you could see what Cook was saying and he really opened up the game for us. Such a good leader. 7/10. *Edit - I thought their keeper deserved a mention. Very good even while conceding 4 goals. **Edit - Watching the highlights Cook wins the penalty for us too which cements it for me. [Post edited 29 Nov 2023 9:56]

MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 09:51 - Nov 29 with 7758 views | ericgen34 | MOTM Larkeche. His contribution leading to Pearson's OG is enough for that IMHO :)
MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 09:54 - Nov 29 with 7731 views | terryb | In general Dave I would agree with you about Paal, but he was culpable for the second Stoke goal. I marked Field down on Saturday for his miss, so I would have to mark Paal down last night. I know it shouldn't make a difference, but I would work from a base of 6 due to the win!
MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 10:04 - Nov 29 with 7674 views | Antti_Heinola | Clive, there was a moment second half where we heard you say something like 'Dykes, you can't finish, you can't hold the ball up, you can't win headers' and my mate turned to me and said 'I don't think Dykes is going to be getting a high mark in the match ratings tomorrow.' Views above say it all, one poster putting Chair in the bad category, another (correctly) having him as motm contender. So, good luck! For me, it was a real mix, at times good, at times flabbergastingly incompetent (the 60 seconds around Dykes's miss, Dunne's horrendous error, and the pathetic goal conceded from a corner), at other times, really quite good, and for the first time in ages, lots of good chances created. I think given that, the average level is about a 6, as we won, but no one higher than a 7: Begovic - 6 Kakay - 5 Paal - 4 (not great overall and mark off for his role in the second goal) Cook - 7 Dunne - 4 (generous, had a nightmare) Colback - 6 (at times a 7, at times a 5, so split the difference) Field - 5 (odd performance from him) EDB - 6 Chair - 7 Smyth - 6 (probably the hardest to judge with Dykes, and the personification of the team: occasionally dangerous, but occasionally ready to hand the game to the opposition. Poor finishing on two occasions) Dykes - 7 (inexplicably a 7 given the miss and some of his play, but if you score 2 goals in this team, what else can you give? Turned the game with that goal.) Willock - 6 Cannon - 7 Larkeche - 7 JCS - 7 Kelman - 6

MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 10:08 - Nov 29 with 7653 views | Lanhoop | Begovic-5 (Looked shaky in the first half in particular) Kakay-6 Cook-7 Dunne-5 Paal-6 Colback-6 (Nearly a 7 for that 10 minutes when Field went off) EDB-6 Field-6 Smyth-6 Dykes-7 Chair-7 Subs: Willock-7 (Goal and an Assist, possible MOTM) Salter-6 Cannon-7 Larkeche-7 Kelman- 6 Marti is MOTM for his selection and timing of the subs otherwise it's Chrissy W.
MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 10:16 - Nov 29 with 7601 views | Esox_Lucius | Within a couple of minutes of getting on the pitch Willock started limping heavily and looked like that was him done as he didn't appear to run it off at all. Soon after I noticed him give a thumbs up to the bench so I thought, OK he wasn't trying to get off and avoid further injuries ahead of him running his contract down. His play was lack lustre and a move broke down on our right when he dropped back to receive a ball and sent it further back when we had some bodies in the box and about that time I wouldn't have given him more than a 1-2 rating. He definitely improved after our equaliser and took a fine goal but over all a 4-5 was about all I would feel happy giving him. Last night was the worst game I have seen Field play for us so I don't know what is going on there and Jimmy Dunne wasn't really on it at all but is returning after injury so I'm not too worried. Colback is a flat out liability in the side no matter how many good things he does in a game; has someone told him to watch Samba Diakité videos as a benchmark? When Lyndon missed that gift to make it 2-0 I thought that that was him done for good now but he made me swallow my words and scored a really well taken turn and shoot goal and if it hadn't been Pearson getting his foot in first he would be celebrating his first hattrick for the Hoops. he has a real never say die, indomitable attitude and getting off his sickbed to play epitomises what he offers. His lay offs and headers won will probably be ignored by those detractors he has but as it stands, we would be a much worse team without him, same with Chair. He is hampered by playing out wide left and it was noticeable that the few minutes where he and Dykes swapped places provided some of his best movement and attacking play.

MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 10:21 - Nov 29 with 7557 views | gazza1 | I'm not getting involved with this one Norf but...... to put Willock as one of our best players on the night is wrong, he scored (didnt do too much more) so if you want that to be 'everything' then sobeit. To put Chair, Paal & Colback as the worst players is madness (they were all good on the night and among our best players on the night), glad the Manager did not think that way because they all played the full match!! Just a bit more about Colback, he was involved with their two goals, the first I thought their player got lucky with the bounce, the 2nd their player went around him but I think Begovic may have done better. Cannon livened it up after a decent game by Kakay again. Well done to Larkeche for his efforts for the short time he was playing. EDB did OK (whatever mark that would be), another match under his belt. As for the keeper, I'm not sure if he should if he should have done better for their 2nd goal. Dunne, Field & Smyth were OK, nothing more. The 2 subs, Kelman - nothing really but did show some pace & JCS will start at Preston ahead of Dunne. We come to Dykes......the penalty is 'bread & butter' as far as I am concerned, his 2nd was very good indeed - well done. Overall play outside of the goals - nothing different than we have seen for two years or more. No comment about the 1 on 1 with the keeper, I will leave that to PRR to have his say!!!! My thanks to Norf for giving me this opportunity ....over to you Norf. [Post edited 29 Nov 2023 10:28]

MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 10:26 - Nov 29 with 7520 views | gazza1 | I agree re Paal, he is our best player overall. They must practise corners/dead ball situations for some hours during the training sessions week and he must be the best/most dangerous to take from the right. He wants in swinging by the looks of it so a right footer may not be an option. JCS will start at Preston - he is a good CB.
MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 10:38 - Nov 29 with 7470 views | QPROslo | I gave them all 6, except Begovic, Dykes, Chair, Willock, and Larkeshe all 7, and EDB and Kelman both 5. MOM Dykes. Special mention Larkeshe, look forward to seeing more of him.
MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 10:38 - Nov 29 with 7456 views | Andybrat | The subs in effect won the game. JCS really looked class, if only he stayed fit him and Cook is a great pairing. Reggie has to start Friday, am I the only one wondering how we got him, as for the Frenchman has to be a 10. Isn’t football a wonderful game because actually there is minimal logic. The whole of the SB stand was screaming for Dykes to be replaced and then all agreed we might be wrong, Sinclair must be wondering why he didn’t get on. Clive I think this could be your weirdest scoring as we scored 3 in 7 minutes and the substitutions were key to that. All I know is it was great to be there after so long. One defeat in 4 for MC.
MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 10:40 - Nov 29 with 7443 views | GaryBannister86 | I think Dykes might have the same issue I had with Crouch when he played for us. "inexplicably a 7 given the miss and some of his play," I thought his hold up play and winning the ball in the air was good last night, and I thought that at half time even after the miss and before his goal. But, like when Crouch used to trap the ball successfully once every 7 times and the fans roared with excitement, whilst I thought he was utter pony, I reckon I am seeing things! Obviously, was proved spectacularly wrong about Crouch.
MOTM/Ratings - group collaboration on 10:56 - Nov 29 with 7369 views | Ned_Kennedys | We won a bloody game at last so surely err on the side of generosity! Defence all a 6 apart from Cook (a 7 as best of the bunch). Field a 6 but rest of midfield 7s. All the subs a 7. Dykes apart from that miss was excellent IMO: an 8 and MOTM.
