Poll: Which is the worst QPR team?

I'd say that scenario is the one to put money on yeah. But for now I'm going to allow myself the occasional daydream where a rejuvenated Rangers side, bolstered by 4 or 5 million of an Eze sell-on and with a year of Marti-ball under their belt, hand out a footballing lesson to the oligarchs.

If he leaves Palace for £20-£25m they and we will be gutted.

Think of the Beautiful One having £16m to spend and JFH's Chelsea coming to our place afrer we return from giving Gareth Ainsworth's Citeh a four-nil spanking up at the Ryanair Sradium. Think big. Think double figures. Think John Terry getting a spanking as he tries to join our promotion lap of honour.

Lets not forget that Leicester broke FFP rules when they got promoted from the Championship in 2013-2014. Because they stayed in the Premier League, they were able to negotiate a cash settlement with the Football League.

That's exactly the sort of arrangement I assumed has been happening until this ruling, most of it probably unpublicised.

That’s the nuts of it…. If owners want to spunk £millions then why can’t they? The only caveat is that any debt is theirs, not the clubs.
But when it started to look like it was going that way, couldn’t be having more upstarts like Blackburn winning the title so FFP was created to ‘protect’ the clubs when in fact all it has done is to throttle them. Having owners incur the debt they create is how you protect clubs, not FFP, but the PL/FL know that so couldn’t be having that.

Just to clarify here as this point seems to regularly get missed, the EPL and EFL do not make the rules. The club owners make the rules and the EPL and EFL police them. The club owners want FFP.

Yes mate; as the story goes, his was the casting vote. Whether that is true or not I don’t know.

One of the major take-aways from this is that Everton co-operated with the league's request. In the past Man City have declined to do so. More than anything else this indicates the structural inequality within the EPL itself. Unless rectified it will inevitably destroy it. It's only a case of when.

Agree with all of this 100%.

It should either be all clubs can spend what they like provided the owner is paying for it themselves, or all clubs have exactly the same amount to spend. That's it. It's that simple. But that upsets the status quo, hence why they are continually trying to find a 'halfway house l' (like the current FFP rules) that keeps the existing 'big guns' at the top

3 panorama programmes highlighted chelsea, abramovich and dodgy dealings, russian mafia links, players being blood doped/transfusions etc 3 progs in 10 yrs and the leagues have done nothing. then russia invade ukraine and Roman is the bad guy and then they did something but chelsea still spent hugely ( new owners) there HAS to be a historical back dated sentence , a title stripped or 2.
they and man city have breached uefa rules too yet flaunt silverware and copped weak transfer embargoes .
luton got virtually dumped to the national league for agents fees and admin stuff . justice? nah. we got hammered for spending to try and stay up, fulham spent twice what we did the next year and nothing?
will everton still get their shiny new stadium??

Everton docked 10 points on 14:43 - Nov 19 with 2552 viewsderbyhoop

FFP was designed to stop clubs being irresponsible, financially. Its all well and good allowing owners to pump in what they like as Abramovich and others have done. The problem is when the owners decide/ cab no longer afford to pump money in.
Then you get a Bury, Oldham, Rushden, Maidstone scenario.

In most businesses you can spend beyond your means and the shareholders bear the costs if it goes tits up. Football is different as the fans (customers?) are invested much more.

Yeah, but that is EXACTLY the point. Find a way of making them pay up front for ALL contracts into a pot held by the club that pays the wage on time every month for the duration of the contract.

Then it is in there.

Isn't that the true meaning of the word "investment"? From the Cambridge English Dictionary: "THE ACT OF PUTTING MONEY, effort, time, etc. INTO SOMETHING to make a profit or get an advantage, or the money, effort, time, etc. used to do this".

Nothing in there about lending an organisation money, it's PUTTING.

...and I understand why the clubs feel that there should be some kind of limit, but the gap between the Prem and the Champ continues to grow ridiculously with the TV deals and yet the P&S cap stays stagnate at £39m.

Of course, if your club is the one with the deep pockets, you'll be most likely to be happy with the rules and I can see why the well run clubs like Luton, Brentford and Brighton will be against all this. Maybe it all feels so unfair because, as always, we find the worlds only inept Billionaires who can't find the right people to run their busines for them.

Not allowed nice things, you see...

Can we go out yet?

If Scum or Citeh get relegated (yeah, I know), do they get auto-dumped into non-League.

You see, say Pompy, Oxford, and Bolton come up to the Champ. Why should they be blocked promo to cheating clubs (especially as those three clubs have had financial challenges in the past)? If they are not blocked, why should the Champ increase the club size but not the promo to the EPL?

Sure, some may say, well, they will want the money attendance, but plenty of clubs won't as they will feel they may get promoted, which is worth way more than a home fixture. £200m vs £2m tops.

Does this mean being relegated from the Prem, means starting way down the pyramid, as in expulsion from the English football league system?

Would be good to know so, we can taunt them while it's all up in the air :P

zzzzzzzzzz

Chelsea. 20 years of cheating financially buying their way from mediocrity to the top, all the while being praised by the media etc. Single handedly disrupted the transfer market forever. Two CLs and a bunch of other stuff bought with what everyone knows was dirty money. The special one, park the bus etc, fcuk off.

Man City much the same for maybe five years less.

Everton who have largely struggled are the ones they finally decide to go after. Absolute joke.

Well how can City and Chelsea not be in deep doo doo now.

Both much worse failings than Everton.

Can we bet on a win double Chelsea and City being relegated

I work with an Everton fan. I meet a Chelsea fan in cafe en route to work... Lmao

Financial penalties and docking of points are nothing to the big clubs

They are wealthy and what are 3 wins and a draw?

Punishment should be in the form of relegation and stripping of titles won during the offending period, if not it is just a slap on the wrist

Agree with this but it won't happen as the Premier league will lose all the big clubs. Should do what Formula One did and introduce a spending cap for all teams regardless of how much money they have got. In F1 there were teams spending 300 million now they are limited to 135 million. F1 managed it so football can too.

If that lot down the road or Man City are relegated out of the PL, which is a possibility, is the EFL under any obligation to accept them into the Championship?
Is it more likely they are moved to L2?
