Well that was a pretty decent first half, certainly an half of 2 halves. Ours for the first 25 mins and then Rotherham came back at us and well even half and 0-0 a fair reflection of it
Though both teams are pretty shot shy, apart from the off side header from Field we never created a lot, and they had one shot from distance which Bego saved
Certainly a lot better from us but hard to really gauge as Rotherham are pretty poor as well.
Not sure about these short goal kicks I honestly think we don't have the players to execute them
Defence looks pretty solid, but again hard to tell because it is Rotherham. Think Dixon Bonner looks comfortable but really not done anything spectacular. A couple of lovely touches from Willock but he must be rusty and off the pace and I doubt he will last the full game
Dykes though is pretty poor, and I'm and I hope that Marti has a little black book of unknown gems as we really need to replace him if we want him to play the hold up CF
All in all not upset with that half a lot lot better than what the Rhinestone Cowboy dished up and we will have an international break to work on things
Just want us to hold onto the draw here as that would be a good start.

the back 4 thing was totally overstated in my opinion. it had little to do with the of formations and more to do with the personnel

we played with a back four twice

once was against watford where we had joe gubbins starting

the other was against blackburn where lakreche was playing out of position and dunne was making his comeback

in each case, the back 4s were basically makeshift due to injuries, etc

Dykes v Hugill

Hugill physical, giving our CBs a bit of grief. Dykes nice touches, but powderpuff. He bounces off their CBs

Hugill in the game, Dykes is not.

Competitive YES, but we have created very, very little. One goal will settle this, not sure it'll be us that gets it though...

Just catching up on the thread and that Hugill Break for me was from a really poor touch from Dykes on the half way line and the ball over the top took Jimmy Dunne out because he was out of position after the ball was given away..................
