Generally meant to be a gobby walking helmet. Much of the success at Luton is attributed to his predecessor and the long coaching structure and approach that has been put in place. Going to Southampton was a stupid thing to have done and exposed both poor judgement in going there (no-one was going to succeed there at that time) and his many limitations as a manager and coach. He may have learned from that experience and adjusted and improved his approach. But probably not.
Apparently, what angered the Luton fans the most was when he returned to pick up an award wearing some Stoke City gear. If true, not a classy individual but then I think we all sort of knew that.
You will be lucky to find a Championship Manager turn down a Premiership job if offered...it was not poor judgement, more ambition and he wasn't stupid whatsoever. It was Luton he managed ffs!!!! I'm sure he learnt from the experience he got at Southampton - why wouldn't he???
