"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Genuinely gutted for him. Right decision though.

Agree. A mercy killing. He’s probably relieved

Felt the same. Sad and gutted but had to be done. Really wanted it to work out.

That Matrade money was spent quickly. Hope there's still some left!

Mahoosive upcoming decision by the club now....

Would have loved to have seen it go right, and maybe in other circumstances it could’ve done. But the writing was on the wall. Get Eustace in asap.

As an aside, if they were having him take the Leicester game and he’d won it, would they have sacked him like Farke at Naarwich?

As I expected, they were waiting to get Leicester out of the way.

Like putting your favourite puppy down. I think we all feared this from day one.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

No doubt there will be some toxic comments on here

But he did his best with a squad of players like I have never seen before. And it just wasn't good enough sadly.

For those crying out for NW, I fully expect those same people in due course saying 'we should never have had him back' like they are doing now with GA

Good luck Gareth - I will remember the playing days

I am genuinely sorry for both of them I would have liked nothing more for them to succeed, but the approach from day one to change the way we play was madness, and its taken a bad situation and seemingly made it a hell of a lot worse. No one can say they were not given a run, I would have pulled the plug at the end of last season and if not after Watford and pre-season. They needed to blend their culture and team ethic with the progressive way of playing that Warburton, Beale and Critchley were following.

Inevitable from the moment Ainsworth was appointed but still sad to see it happen.

I get the feeling that Rowett’s nailed on at this point but feel like Warnock’s our best chance of survival this season.

Sorry it didn’t work out, but I can honestly say I left some matches thinking I would have been more tactically astute than the manager.

Warburton as director of football and Eustace as head coach

So fcking predictable though, you didn’t have to be a soothsayer to know he was never a good fit for us. I’m pretty sure I and quite a few others had him out by October on his welcome thread.

From the wording it looks like they have someone lined up, they may do well to line up another for January.

I cannot say that I feel sorry about it. Totally out of depth and a terrible decision from our owners to sign him.

Does this count as a Dozzell assist?

Gutted for him but there was no way back after recent results . I hope he finds another job where his playing style fits better .

It’s for the best. He inherited a toxic squad and like those before him couldn’t get anything out of them.

Sad and, despite what anyone says, he was not the MAIN problem.

I really wish him the best and he tried everything he could to make a silk purse out of the sow's ear of 'players' we have. He cares as much about Rangers as Holloway and we've let him go a couple of times!

I'll be truly amazed if, whomever takes over will do any better !!

Let's not try to spin this Ainsworth was totally awful but I don't blame him I blame the board for employing a bloke who played the polar opposite type of football that the squad was used to ! They flip , they flop and they listened far to much to the fans input!! For the love of God just stick to a plan and don't worry if ya popular on twitter!

Putting him and us, as fans, out of our respective misery. Correct decision and Gareth should now take some time out, play his music, and get another job in a few months time.

I get the feeling it's Rowett lined up.

Difference is NW never played for us.

Relief all round, I think. Things couldn't carry on as they were.

Who have they got lined up? Rowett, Eustace or Warnock?
