I’d imagine match-going football fans are getting older in general. It’s an expensive hobby. Fair play to the kids who make their own way to away games at today’s coach and train prices even with whatever discounts they get. It’s not exactly been an easy sell for a dad to a son over the 29 years I’ve been dragged to LR and for the last 15 years dragged myself.

Worth saying that message boards like this aren't the sort of forum the younger age demographics go toward, whilst what they do go toward are of no interest to us...

My three (age range 19-29) are all committed fans, read a lot about the club, but only the eldest pops on here now & again.
I send them the best bits from here, they send me the most interesting stuff they see elsewhere.
I'm not sure I buy this thing about us losing new generations of fans. Of our core group of 5 who've been going together for 40 years or so, between us we've managed to produce 12 kids - all are QPR, though not one grew up round West London. All bar a couple take in a good few games a season, home & away. I know that's not really a scientific survey!
I routinely urge my son to read Clive's latest offering, as it invariably chimes with my own (and sometimes my son's) feelings about matches, is decent quality journalism, and helps to make me smile more often
He routinely doesn't, as the 'yoof' appear to prefer get their kicks from SnapTickTube or some such

I know the fan base is aging but the results are also skewed in that younger folks see message boards in the same way that I'd look at a gramophone when I was growing up. Ancient tech.
They're all on X, TikTok, Insta or something else.
I used to be a bit like that years ago, when I first started using LFW. I couldn’t understand how anyone could write that many words about that crap football match I’d just been to see. So didn’t bother a lot of the time. After a while I got it of course and lap it up now.
