Ryder Cup 09:18 - Sep 29 with 6048 viewsWokingR

Already resigned to getting absolutely no work done at all today.
And with tomorrows trains strike making it difficult to get home after the game, I'm currently 50/50 on not bothering and watching the golf all day instead.
Got a mate who's gone out there and got tickets for all 3 days. Don't think I've ever been more envious of someone in life.
And we really need to introduce that Iceland Clap !

Yeah feels like I've missed a trick not going to Rome this weekend!

Ah the benefits of WFH

Seems we've made a decent start but looking at the players I do think the US have more quality - how that transfers into a team contest we'll see but I do think they will edge it overall. Unfortunately.

Have to say...find it hard to get worked up about any sport where you have to keep quiet during play.

Well, seeing as half the crowd have a pint in their hands at 9 in the morning, I would imagine it won't be long before this is right up your street.

everything going our way at the mo. although Rory is doing his best to give the US a point.

Like Arsenal playing at home, you mean?

Rahm’s chip in was incredible.

Until such time as we see men of wide girth charging across the fairway brandishing their golf brollies and offering the opposition fans out, I'll leave it. That said, if they are on it at 9am and can push on, it could kick off after lunch!

Still, all that being said: allez/forza/c'mon/achtung Europe!!

Don't get carried away.
Remember last week the Ladies were 4 down after the first morning.
And QPR were 4 down at half time at Port Vale..

Can't sleep and got up at 4:10 am local time in Los Angeles to find Europe 4-0 up after first morning! Get in. And just imagining all the hand-wringing on Golf Channel here about where it's going wrong for US is making me happy. Having said that Brian (Clive?) still a long way to go as others have said. And I don't even really like golf and have not played a round in my life.

Seems like a good call to bring the foursomes forward.

Loved the putt by Fleetwood from 30 odd feet for a par and then the Yanks 3 putt from no distance at all. Looking like going all square and end up 2up. Nice.

Smells like a trout farm in here

Got quite a few mates out there and much as I’d love to be with them I just can’t justify a £2-3K long weekend!
Their tickets alone were £800+ for the 4 days!

This is just an exhibition from Fitzpatrick.
He's just gone 6 under after 6 holes.

Wow, what an incredible day of golf. The USA didn't win a single match! Don't think I've ever seen a Ryder Cup day like it. Some towering performances out there today, with John Rahm leading the way with some absolutely unbelievable golf shots. This is team sport at its very best... if you like golf, of course!

Extraordinary....USA seem completely out of sorts and Europe playing out of their skin. US will come back tomorrow....minimum 3 point lead going into the singles please. There's not a sporting event like it.

WOW, Europe just won a match 9&7, the highest winning margin in Ryder Cup history!
They’re also up in 2 of the other 3 matches!

5 points required out of a possible 16, surely we can’t f**k it up from here can we?!
But as an R’s fan we just know it’s not going to go to plan!!
