Senedd reform bill 11:12 - Sep 23 with 11945 viewsSullutaCreturned

Well, are people for or against it? I've signed the petition,

https://petitions.senedd.wales/petitions/245625

Time to make you choice and have your voice heard if you don't want it.

Obviously, if you are all for it, share your reasons why.

I've signed for the reason that I do not belive we need yet more AMs , more money to be wasted on a level government which so far has proved to ineffective ,wasteful with taxpayers money and mostly creating a country which health wealth and well being has been eroded to frightening levels with so far no accountability to the people it's supposed to represent

Where do i sign to reform or remove the House of Lords ?
Get rid of the Monarchy. 🇬🇧

We need an elected second chamber.
Not Johnsons brother, daughter and father.
Ffs Ian Botham is making our laws.

Also change the way we elect MPs.
We must never have a huge populist majority again.
Many countries have better and more democratic systems. Pick one.

Unfortunately the UK is consistently rated in the top 20 of most democratic countries so 180 countries are less democratic than THE UK.

The Lords as you well know cannot overrule any Lwas passed by the commons.

Not like you to get it wrong.

This is the wrong thread you dullard.

You can start a petition for that and post it on your own thread, it's quite easy to do. otherwise don't deliberatley hijack a thread with yet more whataboutery.

For what it's worth mind, theres plenty on here who disagree with the Senedd AND would abolish the Lords and have reform of Westminster too.

The more politicians we have the worse things get.

if they need these extras because they have been given more devolved powers, how many new devolved areas are there? More than 50% of the original?

There are quite a few petitions on there that look worth supporting but they have hardly any votes. Is it lack of publicity or just apathy?

Possible it reflects the apathy of people in the Senedd given only 46% ever bother to vote in the elections.

Of the 81 open Senedd petitions only 8 have more than 3000 signatures although the top two have barely been open a week and have raced ahead of the rest.

Over 17 million voted to leave the undemocratic EU with 52% in favour with a turnout of over 72%.

Good of you to include the 18 million children who were not eligible to vote in your silly pie chart.

Can you please draw the same pie chart for the last Senedd election.

I will give you a little help less than a third of the population of Wales voted in the Senedd election if you include the children you included in your pie chart

You're confusing opposition to one policy with support for abolishing the Senedd now. An easy mistake to make when you're a complete simpleton like yourself.

Maybe the Senedd isn't all that popular given that it never even gets a 50% turnout but the last GE Wals had a 67% turnout, Westminster must be more popular.

More of the Welsh electorate voted for the tories in the GE than voted Labour in the Senedd elections.

Easy who you call a simpleton after your cancer comment, you showed a complete failure to understand a simple comment. Not the mark of a bright spark.

If the Senedd is so unpopular, why do the Welsh electorate keep voting for pro devolution politicians? All of the abolitionist members lost their seats 2 years ago.

Turnout is lower so it should be easier to elect abolitionists yet it never happens.

1 in 2 people in Wales will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime so it was beyond crass to say “I hope no one you know gets cancer” when it would be pretty difficult for me to have avoided it in my life.

As someone who’s currently staring cancer in the face right now, I rather understandably reacted to such a poorly thought out comment.
