Sorry to make this a separate post but the Summer Transfer thread keeps disappearing.

I was waiting for these rumours to start circulating after I saw Uche get released (one of GA's previous players), not the best goal scoring record but the handful of times I've seen him play he's been exactly that, a handful. Wouldn't mind this to actually materialise!

Poll: Preferred rumoured CB

I reckon another club will sign him.
Uche is life, I suppose.

I do wonder why we let Chris Martin go as he has a better scoring record! And we paid him fluff and buttons. And he scored some important goals. But, Uche is a big, powerful unit. However, he doesn't score many goals but perhaps we need more powerful units?

Never knowingly right.

Is it Utch, Oochie or Oouch?

I've been quite impressed how Gareth has not tried to sign players that played for him at WW.

Hopefully this will continue.

I can’t tell if this is ironic or not?

Bare bones.

I think L Block was thinking more Baby Ford.

Not ironic at all Antti. It was intended as a compliment.

I feared that a lot of our signings would come from WW & I'm very relieved that they've not, although I've just remembered Paul Smyth played there.

If Ikpeazu is good enough then sign him, but I suspect he is only being linked as Gareth managed him.

Let’s see what young strikers we might be able to pick up from the Prem squads on loan.

Just in case people thought Ikpeazu is in the twilight of his career, he is only 28...

There's a problem with trying to get loans from Premiership teams, if they agree to the loan which usually comes with a hefty fee, they want some assurances that their player will get first team games, maybe even must play when fit so they don't want them just sitting on the bench.

So it all depends what formation we play with for the rest of the season, I still see Dykes as our main striker and if we continue the current system which is a fluid 3-4-1-2, or whatever it looked like to you on Saturday, then he should start with Armstrong being our own player. Chair I'm hoping he stays but accept a big money offer and he's gone would definitely start for me and then there's Willock who on his best form should start but is in his last year of contract and may be leaving.

It's a tough situation for the club to try and find loan players who are better than what we have and worth an automatic start in the team, possibly relegating your own player to the bench, who their parent club sees as playing the right style of football, I have already seen this week Marco Silva saying exactly that in reference to his player Lisa Stansfield........

Far too young, but let's keep him on the radar for 2027/8.

He wanted Scowen, he took that midfielder on trial, he wants Forino, he wanted the peterborough defender he had at wycombe, he signed Smyth. Literally most of his targets have been wycombe related, he just hasn’t landed them!

Bare bones.

His goal scoring record is worse than Dykes.

In fact, it's second to almost everybody's!

Not sure he'd be much use in our situation, to be frank.

yeah but is he cheap?

He'd have to be, before I'd even give him a moment's thought.

Free transfer, and on 5 shillings a week.

Even then, I doubt he'd make much difference to our striker problem.
In fact, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't, as his record up to now for other clubs, would indicate.

The thing is, we're not shopping at Fortnum & Mason at the moment, we're bin dipping round the back of the Happy Shopper

I don't know how many of these Ainsworth wanted & how many were social media rumours.

If you're correct, I hope that our good luck continues!
