Referees 12:11 - Aug 5 with 3762 views | davman | Been a long time coming this from me, but did any of you catch the Sheff W Saints game last night? Yes, Saints are light years ahead of us (and Sheff W may well be too), but that is not the point of this post. With the freedom of OFFICIALLY being told he can enforce the actual laws of the game, Bobby Madeley (I think was the ref) was bloody good last night. Took no SH1T, booked appropriately, jumped on slow play and kicking the ball away and di a bloody good job (see Paul, I do dish praise out where I feel that it is due). The players visibly changed their attitude after a few early yellows and just got on with the game. Now, if only the other weak as pss refs follow that lead, we might be alright on that front this season... And, FINALLY, decent added on time that reflected what I watched as opposed to the shocking displays over the last few seasons. The EFL published the stats this week and the ball is in play in the Championship for no more that 57 minutes on average in a game. This clampdown is late, but absolutely necessary and, as long as they maintain last night's precedent, this might actually be a season of competent officiating... Let's see how long that lasts...

Referees on 17:38 - Aug 5 with 3443 views | ManinBlack | This adding on time lark is becoming farcical. Watching the classified results being read out on Sky at 9 minutes past 5 today and a significant number of matches, especially in the National League, were still latest scores. Almost ten past five and still many games not finished is a joke. The last thing I wanted to see was 9 minutes added on to our game when four down.
Referees on 19:03 - Aug 5 with 3236 views | RuislipHoop | I think that might stop when they see grounds emptying after 90 mins,3-4 mins is fine but 10mths plus is a joke
Referees on 05:43 - Aug 6 with 3034 views | ahoz | It's about time (in more ways than one), that a proper account of added time on was made, rather than the arbitrary mess its been. Here in oz they've been having proper time on for years with AFL and NRL. Both oz rules and Rugby League are for 80 mins plus time on, why can't Assocn Football be the same?
Referees on 12:52 - Aug 6 with 2789 views | PinnerPaul | Perfectly reasonable reply, but just shows "We can't win" really! Davman - Cheers!
Referees on 12:54 - Aug 6 with 2776 views | Northernr | Presumably the hope is the cards and added time will reduce when players realise they can no longer waste time over every goal kick, kick the ball away before every oppo free kick etc. I think it's all long, long overdue. The shithousing had got ridiculous.
Referees on 12:55 - Aug 6 with 2772 views | PinnerPaul | In that case you're saying time wasting is fine. Can't have it both ways!
