I wonder why Sinclair was missing from today's squad, is he injured?

We did okay against a big Bradford side. They had a lot of the ball in the first half without really challenging Moulden. We looked better in the second half with the introduction of Rodney and him and Henderson connected well for our goal.

We looked solid defensively, especially positionally. Nevett did well when he came on. Clayton and Gilmour looked okay in midfield. If we can keep Rodney fit and interested he is going to be a handful.

Dunno who he was, but the bloke who wore #28 and played most of the second half on the left of midfield looked a decent player.

not a bad run out. players looked at lot more interested than a lot of games during 2022/23. you never can tell from a friendly though. rodney took his goal well.

After the Chorley game (which seems ages ago now) the view was that you shouldn’t go off friendly results as an indication of how the team could fair next season so lets not get too giddy after today.
We’ll have a better idea this time next Saturday but it all sounds fairly encouraging.

Where was Tyrese Sinclair today? Not in the squad of players. Kyle Ferguson injured, but he was sat by the dug out.

Getting very concerned about the LB situation. Surely we're not intending to start the season with Keohane as first choice and John as back up ?

Would say John is first choice there at the moment. Players are seemingly wearing their squad numbers now and he’s moved to 3 and started the last couple of games in that position n

Had a decent game today imho. Played the full 90, didn't do much wrong.

Problem was that Stockdale was a wingback fan, and Bentley too stupid to recognise the potential of CJ playing there. Big and fast, needs to learn the position, but signs today were promising.

Although playing on the other flank, Wayne Evans (RIP) and Joe Rafferty were both solid fullbacks, rather than wingbacks. No reason why CJ can't be a ""solid citizen" on the left, giving Jimmy K or A N Other a bit of licence to roam on the right.

If what people have worn at Walsall and today are correct:

1. Moulden
2.
3. John
4.
5. Taylor
6. EEL
7. Sinclair
8. Clayton
9. Mitchell
10. Rodney
11.
12. B. Kelly
13. Keohane
14.
15. Nevett
16. Oduroh
17. Afuye
18.
19.
20. Gilmour
21.
22. Shubbar

30. Johnson

40. Henderson

Ferguson could have 4, but maybe McNulty has kept it if he’s still registered as a player. Others may know more with youth players being allocated numbers - eg Oscar Kelly.

Mention should go to George Nevitt today - introduced before the game as a 17 yo signing his first pro contract and looked very assured when he came on second half. Nice to see us grow our own.

Oh and how many millions of them turned up?

Don't suppose Sparky will be best pleased at Bratfud's finishing, but we 'took 7 points' against L2 teams in 3 pre-season games, scored 4 and conceded 1. Cause for a little hope maybe? Thought we played well in spells yesterday and looked committed to going forward but also looked somewhat light weight in some areas. Let's see what happens with live ammo.

It was £10 plus two fees charged by their system of £1.50 taking it to £13. If they bought it at the kiosk at Spotland it was still £10.
