The genetic study revealed a pattern of DNA dated to around this time that is shared by people now living in northern France and those in England, Northern Ireland and Scotland, but none of those in Wales. It looks as though substantial numbers of people took the opportunity to cross the narrow Channel, and spread through most of the country.

Pictish history is not well defined due to an unwritten history. They were first identified by the Romans though. It is not very clear how long they had been in Scotland from what I understand. (i am not an historian).
Goggle says this.
"The origin of the Picts is uncertain; some evidence suggests that they were descendants of pre-Celtic aborigines, but some linguistic evidence suggests they spoke a Celtic language".
I read elsewhere they probably pre dated Celts but this is not certain. It was an opinion. There is movement i amongst English historians like Starkey to deny Celtic history. DNA analysis refers to ancient Britons of Scottish Welsh Irish ethnicity.

Most Welsh people are Christian or atheist. Not all. I am suggesting "Welsh people" are assessed as a whole. We exist.
For purposes of peace and unity many want to be British not Welsh. This is reasonable. Many of such people are of immigrant stock coming to Wales to mine coal 200 years ago and a strongly anti welsh independence anti Welsh language and anti the WAG. Family traditions tend to persist.
We will probably stay Welsh because English people are generally proud of being English not British and promote themselves as English when overseas. "English money" is heard frequently. | |

It is a well defined ethnic group. It is an active community going about their business with certain distinctive features. Welsh people are recognised as such.
Many have loyalties to thing Welsh such as the language and culture. It has people given names like Gwyn. There are not many 'Gwyns' outside Wales.
Welsh people have also a group who are loyal to the Crown of England (Britain) and strongly pro Union. The Welsh are particularly keen to co exist peacefully.
The way i see it you can be both a Welsh and British patriot simultaneously. I strongly object to any concept that Welsh communities and English communities are the same. This is the thinking which causes a lot of problems all over the world.
Wales is a global 'gold star' quality of ethnic cooperation. The British doing what Brits do best. working together and getting along for their common interests.
When I see agitators i object. Brexit was a huge agitation. When I and my family are subjected to filthy abuse from a Zommie on drugs from Birmingham of the basis of my ethnicity I demand that the Welsh Constabulary take action and enforce the law. Sadly too many Welsh are prepared to accept such filth. It is because too many people are cowards and are prepared to lie instead and say illogical things.

Perhaps 95% of "people of colour" what ever that means object to monkey themed abuse. Perhaps for argument 25% of Welsh people object to "sheep themed" abuse. This includes me. (It is against the law by the way). It is just a matter of percentages.
A certain subsection of the community love this porno ethnic themed abuse. Welsh football fans for one. I am pretty sure they are not representative. "we know what we are" (Eff off I say). "We dance to the tunes of the English zombie racist pipers" . (They define us). Yuk.
