Puts a lot of modern day players to shame, football is different world now.

read that earlier, top man, loved him as a player, and well, fantastic what he's doing now.

Thanks for posting this, MedwayR. Bandy Barry Bridges was such an exciting player and one of my favs when I started going to Rangers as a lad. He was an old fashioned winger with a turn of pace who loved to beat his man. But, as he says himself, what he's doing now is so much more important and it's lovely to read about it.

Was one of my favourites too. How many near post flick-ons did he score from corners?

Lovely story.

I do think there are some lovely lads still playing now though. You'd deffo be happy to have Field, Chair or Ebbs taking your daughter out (if they were single obviously) and probably many of the other guys too.

There was a country/pop song at the time called Burning Bridges Behind Me.
At away games we would be singing Barry Bridges Behind Me.

unusual memory but it’s stuck with me for years,my fav player at that time

Barry Bridges eh....I have forgotten all about him.

What a great right winger, proper decent player from that era who could play wide and scored a few goals as well.. Signed from Chelsea I believe. Liked him very much.

Tremendous contribution Barry.

Also wonderful that he is still doing it at his time of life.

What, now you're saying Dave Thomas smelt of horse oil? I'd give it a rest mate, you're having a 'mare.
