Congratulations to Junior who has been nominated for League 2 Young Player of Year. He is up against: Jayden Sweeney (Leyton O) and Jacob Wakeling (Swindon)

Should add a decent monetary value to his sale price should he leave

Am sure he will be sold in the summer but hey ho that is what Academy's are about.
Seem to think Ashley was only signed on a one year contracontract so with his good performances we will likely as not see him depart as well.

Junior is not a product of the academy has such, having signed from Charlton couple of seasons ago.

That isbtrue but doubt he would have joined without the Academy which has obviously helped develop him.

First and foremost the likes of Junior, Will Greenidge and Oscar Thorn have joined the club because their careers have stagnated at there former clubs with no likelihood of progression. Luckily a club like us have offered a chance to reignite there careers, with a Academy set up in place which can give a second chance .
Junior has grabbed his opportunity and hopefully for a long and fulfilling career.

I did not know that.

A great achievement for Junior to be recognised and nominated, backing up the Apprentice of the Year award he won previously. Hopefully his disciplinary record won't work against him as 14 yellow cards this season, 13 in the league, is one of worst records in the country. This is definitely something he needs to cut out from his game in the future.

Must try to convince him to stay another year at least.
Another season like this one will increase his value astronomically.

Noticed that Aaron Collins was named League One Player of the Season. Quite a feat considering he's playing for a mid-table side. Didn't see that coming off the back of his short spell here but just goes to show that sometimes in football it takes time to find your feet, literally, and then with a bit of luck and the right moves you can actually do pretty well for yourself.

Not bad for Tchamadeu to get into the League 2 Team of the Year either, considering everyone else plays for a top 7 side.

Good point. I hadn't noticed that. Maybe Junior will win the award in League One next season...

Junior won't win anything in the future if he doesn't learn to control himself.
So we all suggested that the ball had crossed the line but Junior taking on the referee with a yellow card already was plainly stupid.
His record of yellows during the season is unacceptable and yesterday's red card simply stupid. Probably seen the last match for us now but unless he learns a bit of control any future club buying him will have to allow being without him for several games for disciplinary reasons.
....and yes it probably was a goal but without goaline technology neither ref or lino were in a position to make a positive decision in our favour. Hey ho.

Completely agree Gerry. I said above about Junior's disciplinary record. Teams don't want a player who is going to be suspended for three or four matches a season plus having to play out games "on a yellow". He's not a particularly physical player and although some of his bookings are for poor challenges, often when he's been caught out of position, I'd imagine a number are for complaining at the ref. I know he's still young but he's made nearly 100 professional appearances so should be learning. This is something he really needs to cut out of his game. Such a shame if that's how his Col U career ends as he's been really good for us the last couple of seasons.
