Just hope it works out with him.
Couldn't bear to see a legend get ripped apart by our fans.

Bare bones.

Just listened to latest not the top 20 pod where they discussed NC and GA. Two guys who have watched Wycombe a lot more than us, and leave me more positive about the appointment than before. Sometimes I think we as fans forget liking your boss is pretty damn important, GA definitely seems to have that personality people get behind. Let’s see hey

Why are we worrying about Ainsworth's style when we recently had a game when our CBs and 'keeper had most of the touches?

Look, most of us are Warnock fans. Well, didn't he say he didn't want his teams taking 20 touches to get it into the opponent's half?

Face facts, we're not going to score many goals from the edge of our own penalty area.

PS: I'm not having a go at you, Dave.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

I can second this post because I've also met him and he IS a genuine guy who loves QPR - and he certainly won't suffer fools when it comes to football. Sicknotes beware.
Very best wishes, Gazza, if you DO decide to come here.

It's probably actually a weirdly good time for him to finally make the move. Expectations are low and for 3 months it's a massive man management job. Plays to his strengths and in some ways easier than if he took over in the summer and had a bad start

It does strike me that worrying overly about playing style at this stage is a little bit like refusing to get in the lifeboat because Steve Redgrave isn't at the oars. We just need someone who can get the team doing something, anything, that resembles football enough to get us maybe 3 wins and 3 draws or more.

Exactly. If this is our bed we need to lie in it. Doesn't matter what happens he needs to be given time and space from the fans and the board.

Interesting, if it’s to be Ainsworth then I wonder whether Dobson will come too? Set piece specialist and very much into the psychology side of things so Google tells me. Hopefully will instill some confidence in some of our talented players who appear to have lost it.

And that's the thing that feels particulalry sh*t about this whole situation.

If we don't get results quickly, they'll shovel him out the door before season's end, and no-one in the top brass will give a rat's posterior about the service he gave previously either as a player or caretaker/babysitter during theTango and Cash insanity.

There'll undoubtedly be the same old "we know he's a really great bloke, and been handed a really sh*tty stick to work with, but actually we don't really care about that" epitaph that they gave Critchley, Warburton, etc. etc repeat until dead.

I suspect they think he is a great fit if we get relegated. His WW’s teams are always thereabouts in L1.

I don’t have a clue who they should appoint, maybe a management setup from Europe? However, a League One Ainsworth doesn’t seem like the right choice. Based on comments he is a fans favorite because he is an ex-player who loves QPR. But this doesn’t mean it will translate into a successful stint as manager. Case in point Holloway.

This is my fear. He is the complete opposite to Beale, and highlights the disparity between what the club say and do.
Clearly Beale didnt work, so maybe they have gone sod it, give them Ainsworth and see what happens.

Wycombe three points off the playoffs at the business end of the season. We were up in arms about Beale leaving back in November and here we are doing the exact same thing but probably worse to another club!

Can’t imagine the Wycombe fans will have much love for Ainsworth doing them dirty like this.

I wouldn't say worse but it's defo in a C@ntish move ball park. Not sure we can moan too much about the Mick Bile move after this.

don't think you can say Beale didn't work, he did pretty well and got poached by a bigger club. Whether he'd have continued to do well is something we'll never know but he made a good start.

One thing that has been a constant at QPR though is a mental weakness and inability to adapt and do anything different in games to turn around losing situations. That's been the same under the last 3/4 managers.

The whole style of play with with Ainsworth seems nuts, lets just see how his team plays before judging

The key to it working with Ainsworth will be how well he adapts to managing with different expectations and very different style of players. I think he'll do Ok, I'm not expecting much but he's someone who has punched above his weight without spending money at Wycombe and that's what the job pretty much is at QPR now as well
