Very few if any let's say top class British footballers over the last 50 years ever make top level managers. You could probably name on one hand those that have had any success and won trophies i.e. Dalglish, Venables, George Graham, Clough and probably Souness although only in Scotland. The better British managers have tended to come from players who probably regarded as average to good footballers, but they seem to have more hunger and probably better all round management and coaching skills. | | | |
