I agree.

Plaid would get my vote if they dropped the independence agenda & agreed to no more power being passed from Westminster.

Id like to think they'd look after the whole of Wales.

A percentage increase will always give the high earners a bigger increase. The lower earners always lose out. Every year the gap widens.
That's not right.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

I'd hazard a guess that London takes a fair bit from the English budget

Be handy to have a look at spending per head of population on town/city basis in Wales because kardiff has the biggest population doesn't it

Jim, national and regional spend in UK.

What is more difficult to find is investment by region in Wales.

Several years back the Walesonline had a story about Welsh spending, basically for every ONE pound spent on Swansea, SEVEN were spent in Cardiff.

Maybe the Welsh regional spend is hard to find because the Senedd don't want the rest of Wales to see in black and white just how much they are being taken for mugs?

Many times I have pointed out that Wales has more money per head spend than anywhere in England besides London but we are still well behind Scotland and Northern Ireland.

You optimize a person who has worked in public bodies most of his life.

You wouldn't last 5 minutes working for me or any decent manager in the private sector.

What you say about that union rep is why good hard working people have no time for them.

ATM a vote for Plaid is a vote for labour ,Plaid have been losing support at a rate of knots ,similar to the Lib Dens useless on the own hence their principles have disappeared once the sniff of power sharing was put on the table

I'm aware of that hence why I wont vote for them.

Id like to think a Plaid in power in the Senedd (not as part of a coalition) would do what is best for the whole of Wales & look at attracting business by improving infrastructure & being more forward thinking.

In reality they'd probably be as shite as Labour but its a nice thought.

Adam Crozier, what a plonker he was, apart from the rebranding fiasco.

I was told from a very good source a while ago, that he had the same strategy for every major board meeting "increase the price for stamps".

At his last meeting, he recommended that (yes you guessed it) increase the price of stamps, but on this occasion one of the directors challenged him, saying "but if we continue to increase the price of stamps, and with emails being so popular, in 2 years time we will have no customers using the mail service.

Crozier replied "but I won't be here in 2 years time"

He left with a big fat golden hand shake for making the Royal mail profitable, that's what's called "short term thinking, short term profit management" the guy was an utter c*nt.

Makes you wonder why Labour does not condemn the RMT. The strike will prevent millions of working class people ftom getting to work and earning money to survive.

Maybe it is because the RMT pays/sponsors 6 of Labour's front bench.

I would imagine that the cost of purchase and subsidy for the airport alone compare favourably to what has been spent on Swansea. The Millennium Centre has had tens of millions gubbed away on it too.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I would suggest that we have a thread just for showing how badly money is distributed in Wales.
Devolution is great in theory but it's just another bad level of decision making by people who shouldn't be making decisions.
I would get rid of the assembly tomorrow if I could.
The RMT, however, need to get a grip and look at what people earn elsewhere. At least it isn't a public servant that is taking money from central coffers though.

But what is it that you want ? (i'm talking to posters in general now not just you pencoed).

Everyone slags off Labour (including me many times in the past) for running Wales as a mini UK ie ploughing excessive amounts of money into Cardiff and the South East while letting the rest of Wales rot.

So if not Labour then who ? Would you all vote Conservative ? I think it's fair to say that Wales will never be a Conservative country. And IMO they would be even less likely than Labour to spread spending fairly around Wales.

So that leaves Plaid as the only other party potentially big enough to run the Senedd. We wouldn't know whether they'd be better than Labour until they were given power but there's no point in just slagging off Labour without deciding on an alternative.

It's either change or accept Labour forever.

That is subjective.

I have my own views and while I detest a lot of what the Conservative party are I don't spend my life knocking the self serving selfish money grabbing brown nosing tory boys in every other post though.

I voted Tory last time as did the majority of Bridgend & if there was an election tomorrow I would do so again ( previously I’d voted Labour all my life).

It’s a dilemma I’m at at age where I’m pretty finically secure but want what’s best for my kids & grandkids.

I see so much opportunity for Wales & feel frustrated we have someone like Drakeford at the helm.

I really couldn’t give a toss about a few glasses of wine/beer by any political party during lockdown I just want a party to drive the country forward.

I live in hope.
