It all seems like a waste of time on the surface, but I'm guessing Les, Mick and co. have identified this as a likelihood rather than a possibility, because they have been so persistent.

Agree with all that, and I'd only add how different the comments would be on here if this was one of our players with a year left on their contract being pursued by another Championship club.
We'd be berating the club for not either getting the player to sign an extension, or flogging him for better money last year. And we'd be saying, get rid, he clearly doesn't want to commit to the club, take what we can get.
My guess is that as no one else appears to be sniffing round him, he wants to go and he'd prefer to stay in London. | | | |
