Wales v Ukraine 17:28 - Jun 5 with 5817 viewsTGRRRSSS

Anyone watching?

Mostly Wales now after the non goal after about 2 mins from Ukraine.

I rather fancy Wales to win, and even before the Hyperbolic around the Scotland game it could play into Wales hands with all the focus and Souness comments etc.

If the game goes deep maybe into extra time I wonder if it could catch up a bit with Ukraine.

I think I'd prefer Ukraine to win. They deserve a crumb of comfort and I'd prefer to see them having something to cheer about while Russia are banned.

OG really very unfortunate for him.

Great whipped in FK from Bale though.

Wales are playing a good game, feigning the injuries, getting free kicks where it matters and bookings. Certainly no signs of the "poor Ukraine" rhetoric. This means just as much to the Welsh.

That's an own goal I would have thought? Going wide without that header.
I'd prefer Ukraine like the previous comment.
Not that I am all that fussed with international football these days..

I watched the Hungary game yesterday. Supposed to be played without fans yet the stadium was largely full with kids accompanied by an adult. Not much of a punishment is it. And they all booed the taking of the knee. I am sure they will learn from their 'ban' an d never make racial noises and comments again... What a joke.

Sky feed on ITV. Great having a decent commentator in Martin Tyler rather than Matterface or Tydsley.
Ukraine are the better side but it won't worry the taffs.

Tyler and decent commentator cannot be used in the same sentence anymore the bloke should have been sacked off years ago

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Wales picked it up a gear second half. Should have scored a second which Ramsey spaffed, would have been a great move.

Need to get second goal to settle it you'd think.

Ukraine on the front foot but susceptible on the break a 2nd probably would do it for Wales but they are struggling a bit for ball at the moment.

I'm enjoying Dave Edwards on co commentary though. Soothing tones.

VAR having another perfectly normal one on that first half penalty. I genuinely couldn't tell you what is and isn't a penalty any more.

Certainly not the one Hungary got yesterday
I really worry that this years World Cup is going to be a farce on and off the pitch

I've watched three matches this week - Forest Huddersfield, Solihull Grimsby, and now this. Two of them with VAR. Five absolutely blatant penalties across all of them, none given.

As I said last week in the Forest thread, football is working itself into a really complicated state, of protocols, who's initiating contact, different interpretations of a foul depending whether it's in the box or out the box, what do we look for, when can we intervene...

Stand back, take a breath, has he tripped him up? If he's tripped him up, it's a fcking penalty.

I thought after the 2 early yellows for Wales it might be a card fest but since then oddly not, the 2nd was for dissent though to James.

Still hanging in there atm, absolutely peeing it down there.

I know why they use Cardiff stadium but why not use Millenium for this one?

This Forest lad Johnson has spent his last season in the
Championship. He's looks different class!

Yeh I rolled my eyes at that but tbf to the referee, there's been zero dissent or crowding the official since has there? Like to see that a bit more I reckon.

Come on Wales.keep it going.

Really feel England and Wales can make top 2 in their group in Qatar.

In other news, I bought a bunch of Green King IPA's at Tesco this morning. They didn't have a lot in stock after the long Bank hol; no London Pride which is what I was after. Through my third bottle this afternoon and I've realised they're gluten free. A bit...shit? Dry tasting. I might have the last two just to make sure.

VAR is absolutely pointless. If the referee misses that, fair enough but surely it's got to be given if they look at it again.

Was that Tony Roberts running on the pitch to hug Wayne Hennessey at the end?
Pleased for him that after a long career as a goalkeeping coach that he's going to a World Cup.

Well done Welshers, that has been some wait

It was. Hennessey certainly didn't learn much from him judging by today's display.
