A development club to me means we buy low and sell high you know something we were very good at in the 80's and early 90's.
I genuinely think some people on this forum think we should be playing 442 and lump it up to the big man but unfortunately it's not 1987 and football has changed
Beale probably won't work but then not many mangers have in the last 30 years but if this was another club making this appointment we would be waxing lyrical and moaning about us going for the same familiar names | | | |

It says something about us when everyone else - journos, current boss, players and supporters of clubs he's worked at - are wildly positive about Beale, quite a few QPR fans are nervous or even negative about him.
We know there are risks with him not having been the number 1 before, but given the others we were said to be considering, Beale looks the most exciting with bags of potential and he'll fit in with the club's strategy.

I feel the same way. He seems like someone who will have a good chance of getting that solid core group of players (and the others of course) in the right place as far as belief and pattern of play goes.
If you need to work with what you have and develop players then go and get the best person you can think of, and afford, for that. This guy seems not far off that at all.
He's also more than likely got a good awareness of youth prospects which can't hurt with trying to get a few microwave-ready bodies in. | | | |

The fact that he sees us as a progression of his own career, as well as that of QPR, is a massive bonus.

I can't explain why, even to myself, but I would be more excited about the appointment of Michael Beale than anyone since Terry Venables came in 1980.
I've enjoyed the Mark Warburton years very much, but when he came I regarded him as the best available rather than uplifting.
A Championship squad that includes Dieng, Dickie, Dunne, Field, Amos, Johansen, Chair & Willock will not struggle & hopefully will give us some excitement. That's without any additions that may be brought in.
Villa have a few players below the first team squad that have looked good in the FA Youth Cup. Perhaps we may be able to take advantage of any availability.
Mind you, I would still like to add Barbet to the list of players for next season! | | | |

I'd like to put on record that I have no effing idea if he's any good or in fact anything at all about him. Possibly about anything ever now I think about it, especially as I'm "doing an XTC" (gin and rough cider since you ask, not bad together actually) this evening.
But I'm really hoping that Fernandes snuck down the bookies with a sack of cash, a pair of dark glasses and a dodgy syrup and shoved the price of a new full-back on the bloke just after he was "ruled out".
