I'm nervous avout the lack of transfer activity but the flip side of that is I'd be disappointed if the club caved in by making rash signings and / or paying over their valuation (which seems like is happening with Lyons).

I don't think he's a good enough player for the championship and he doesn't suit Appleton's system. Lavery'd be at his best playing as part of a twin strike force alongside a big guy.
Positives - Workrate and pressine ability. A general pest, getting in defenders' faces.
Negatives - Poor ball skills - Appleton doesn't play a pressing game therefore nullifying Lavery's main asset - Can't play lone striker role
Others - It'd be good business to sell someone we signed on a free. - Frees up a squad place and funds for a player more suited to Appleton's system
