Middlesbrough will be bringing 700 fans to the Swansea.com Stadium on Saturday. Long trip and they are feeling a bit deflated about their play-off chances.

Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year.

IMO that's poor. I know Borough is a long way, but with them 3 points off the play offs with a game in hand, how many would we be taking if the roles were reversed. Its a make or break game for them.

Shame because normally Boro travel well

It's an expensive time. Some just can't afford it.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

This is true and it surprises me, they really are well supported away.
But cost is king.

True but I bet the vast majority of them will be exiled Boro fans living in the Midlands / South 2-3 hrs away

They travel very well best supported club away in the entire 4 divisions last time they got promoted.

It will be the distance that has reduced the numbers plus a poor recent run.

Where do you get your information from. Better away support than Man Utd, Leeds, etc can’t see it personally.

I’ve seen Middlesbrough a fair few times at Swansea and they haven’t got anywhere near selling their full allocation.

They didn’t sell out the away end at that game. Finished a draw and Swansea won the replay.

I didn’t say they sold out the away end. I said they had a good turn out and in more ways than one.

Can't be bothered to search it now but can assure you it was correct.

The PL sides had % restrictions on travelling support.

There were lots of Northern or London clubs near to Boro London is just over 2 hours away by train. I got no reason to make it up and don't live to far away myself.

I was on about the away win in the replay but they do have a remarkable ability on the cultural side of the game. Some can reference this elsewhere if they like.

Leeds would have been in the championship and they sell every single away ticket.
Unless you are talking about 20 years ago

I remember that well. The pubs were full of them very early. And they were...lets say...an older crowd...who could easily handle themselves. On the West Bank that day and you had to respect them. Donkey jackets merchants we used to call them!

Probably the hardest looking ‘mob’ I have ever seen in Swansea, opened the door to Adam & Eve at 11am & thought better give that a miss today

Went to both the home & away games.

Yes they turned up at our place once, about 150 of them in the borough on st Mary street by 11am….quite amazing really. All quite old grizzly steel worker types who weren’t going anywhere backwards that day.
