A&E 17:04 - Sep 12 with 5139 views | controversial_jack | There's a 10 to 12 hour wait in both Morriston and Neath Port Talbot A&E.Needless to say we didn't wait. Never know it to be this busy
A&E on 17:46 - Sep 12 with 3004 views | Whiterockin | If you didn't need urgent attention why did you go?
A&E on 17:48 - Sep 12 with 2995 views | Jack123 | Wow, that's crazy, what is the reason for that, the virus?, staff shortages?
| |
A&E on 17:59 - Sep 12 with 2983 views | raynor94 | Exactly, when the Welsh health Secretary has asked people not to go unless it's absolutely necessary.

A&E on 18:35 - Sep 12 with 2918 views | Catullus | Waiting times at A&E have been too long for years now. They have consistently failed to meet targets even when the Senedd relaxed the rules. It's not the hospitals fault. What did we expect when, faced with a growing population they kept cutting beds and closing A&E's down. If you have a heart attack in Mumbles the travelling time alone to Morriston could mean your too late. Singleton should have an A&E, a place the size of Swansea should have 2 A&E's

A&E on 18:45 - Sep 12 with 2893 views | Brynmill_Jack | Definitely agree on two A and E’s should be one in every population centre

A&E on 19:25 - Sep 12 with 2818 views | WalterBoyd | I know someone who was in A & E yesterday, the delays and queues are down to Covid. Its chaos. For non Covid alot of the consultants dont work weekends. If you are seriously ill I suggest making sure the illness happens Monday to Friday. 9 to 5 would be perfect. [Post edited 12 Sep 2021 19:26]

A&E on 20:14 - Sep 12 with 2772 views | 73__73 | I have been saying for many years that the NHS is out of control and has become a money monster. Waiting lists won’t go down, the Rubicon has been crossed. If you want to prevent illness, start by looking after yourself.
| |
A&E on 20:23 - Sep 12 with 2757 views | WalterBoyd | Get the 2 jabs? I agree. Lose weight, dont drink excessive alcohol, dont smoke, walk an hour for at least 5 days a week, dont eat cake or biscuits more than once a week, avoid stress in work and life. All sorted.
A&E on 20:29 - Sep 12 with 2742 views | 73__73 | I’d imagine 99.7 % of people would do fine without the jabs. I’m a great believer in people doing what they want to do, smoke, drink alcohol, take drugs, eat junk food, etc, but the reality is now that the NHS won’t be there like it has been in the past. As I’ve already said the Rubicon has been crossed

A&E on 20:36 - Sep 12 with 2731 views | controversial_jack | It wasn't life or death. If it was we would have called an ambulance, but 111 told us to go there
A&E on 20:41 - Sep 12 with 2718 views | WalterBoyd | You're a great believer in people doing what they want to do and " If you want to prevent illness, start by looking after yourself". How does that work ?
A&E on 20:52 - Sep 12 with 2697 views | Boundy | Even If it was life or death you would still have to wait a few hours , the FAST acronym if you're having a stroke doesn't seem to apply anymore .

A&E on 20:59 - Sep 12 with 2684 views | 73__73 | Very simply. It’s not up to me how people live their lives.
| |
A&E on 21:15 - Sep 12 with 2662 views | Catullus | And as the triage nurse in A&E somewhat sarcastically told me, 111 tells everbody that. SO, what is the point in 111?
| |
A&E on 21:24 - Sep 12 with 2652 views | Jack123 | No need of that, when someone needs medical advice/help , I would have told the cheeky cow in triage to take it up with the call handlers on 111. [Post edited 12 Sep 2021 21:25]

A&E on 21:59 - Sep 12 with 2621 views | majorraglan | The frontline of the NHS is currently under huge pressure. Society is open, people are carrying on as normal and transmission levels are high and the hospitals are starting to fill up with Covid patients. As the number of Covid patients increases, they need more Covid wards which in turn means less beds for non Covid patients. If the hospitals can’t discharge in patients on account of a lack of care packages, no spaces in care homes or the care homes won’t accept patients out of fear they may bring Covid in to the home then it becomes a toxic mix. Throw in a combination of staff shortages on account of staff having Covid or having to SI following exposure to Covid, then it really starts to become a difficult situation. Morale amongst a lot of front line NHS staff is very low and some staff are burnt out. The last 18 months have been very difficult for medical staff who’ve had enough, some are along with their feet. Primary care GP services aren’t seeing patients like they were before pandemic which means even more pressure on A and E. A lot of GP practices are businesses and run independently of the NHS which means Health Boards have limited influence over GP services. [Post edited 12 Sep 2021 22:02]

A&E on 22:16 - Sep 12 with 2583 views | controversial_jack | Seems we have learned nothing. All precautions and restrictions have gone and ppl don't care as long as they can go out and have a pint and socialise.
A&E on 22:22 - Sep 12 with 2577 views | angryjack | Well what is the point getting jabbed..clearly not working...they said get the jabs we on road out of it..another lie
A&E on 22:44 - Sep 12 with 2554 views | majorraglan | Sadly the vaccines do not appear to be preventing large scale transmission, but three quarters of the people in hospital with Covid are from the 10% of society that has not been vaccinated. The 25% who have been vaccinated and are now hospitalised include the old, the vulnerable and people with underlying health conditions including cancer etc. 75% of the patients coming from 10% of society should tell us something.
A&E on 08:00 - Sep 13 with 2442 views | Dr_Winston | Yep. By every measure the vaccinations are having a tremendous effect. There are none so blind as those who will not see.
