Coventry Match Thread 12:03 - Aug 27 with 30380 views | PinnerPaul | Lets try and keep my unbeaten match thread starting run and the teams unbeaten run going. Us 3 Them 1 - Charlie to score 1st Feeling quite bullish about this one - both the team and the chances of me getting into the ground 1st time! What could possibly go wrong!
Coventry Match Thread on 17:04 - Aug 28 with 3062 views | EmpireStateRanger | The fact that we've named about five different MoMs tells you about our performance in the second half. Truly a job well done. Only downside is we have to wait 14 days to see this team again.
Coventry Match Thread on 17:05 - Aug 28 with 3033 views | Stainrod | Maybe we just have to accept we are a slow to start team. Because we pass it around so well other teams seem to get tired. When we step it up like we can do in the second half both Coventry and Barnsley looked spent.
Coventry Match Thread on 17:07 - Aug 28 with 2989 views | DylanP | Oh yeah, one more thing ... from now on Pinner has to start every match thread. we have a run going so lets not mess with it! Nice one Pinner

Coventry Match Thread on 17:12 - Aug 28 with 2877 views | Boston | I think the players will benefit from the rest and, I don't usually have much time for international or any other type of breaks.

Coventry Match Thread on 17:13 - Aug 28 with 2876 views | BazzaInTheLoft | Have people changed their mind about Dykes from last season?
Coventry Match Thread on 17:14 - Aug 28 with 2846 views | Boston | Not me.

Coventry Match Thread on 17:16 - Aug 28 with 2818 views | joolsyp | I don't think we played badly first half - both Barnsley and Coventry have flown out of the traps with the high press, fast breaks and lots of attempts on goal. We just need to impose ourselves a bit more first half on teams that do that.
Coventry Match Thread on 17:24 - Aug 28 with 2657 views | QPRSteve | How did they get away with only one booking? 16 fouls to our 5. Be interesting to see what Clive makes of the ref.

Coventry Match Thread on 17:31 - Aug 28 with 2523 views | nix | Another thing to bear in mind is that Coventry didn't have a midweek match but we did, which both impacts the amount of rest and the time to prepare, while we played away against Middlesbrough on the Wednesday and Barnsley played at home on the Tuesday, both giving them more rest time and more preparation time. It may make a difference as to how we start out of the blocks.
Coventry Match Thread on 17:33 - Aug 28 with 2491 views | CiderwithRsie | Normally I absolutely hate the things but this time I'm delighted for the break ahead of another seven-matches-in-three-weeks sprint up to the start of October. What a month. End-to-end football, red cards, come-backs galore, injury scares, a "cup run", Rob Dickie, averaging more than two goals per match, miracle goal-line clearances, even a couple of clean sheets in there (God knows how).....and breathe.
Coventry Match Thread on 17:34 - Aug 28 with 2488 views | Stainrod | He let them get away with a lot today. Nothing massively malicious just lots of really cynical fouls to stop our flow. A few yellows might have stopped that.
Coventry Match Thread on 17:35 - Aug 28 with 2467 views | nix | Same thing happened against Barnsley. They had fifteen fouls to our three and only one extra yellow card (3 to our 2j
Coventry Match Thread on 17:40 - Aug 28 with 2411 views | CiderwithRsie | I'm sure that's at least partly true. If we can see the high-press and early pressure is a weakness I'm sure Warbs can too. Maybe part of the response is to keep calm and tire the b*ggers out. In the first year of Warbsball you knew we'd let at least one in but we hoped to get two or three back. This year it's more like we're sure we'll get at least one so even if we do go behind it's not the end of the world, and if we can hang in there we'll get two or three (like today and vs Hull)
Coventry Match Thread on 17:42 - Aug 28 with 2381 views | CiderwithRsie | I think full dream licences are issued after the 10th match, but daydreaming is allowed now.

Coventry Match Thread on 17:54 - Aug 28 with 2230 views | Malintabuk | Just got back to brothers and a great win by us today As I said at HT thought Coventry were really good and when they had that shot right at the start of the 2nd half I thought be happy with the draw and hopefully a clean sheet, but Warbs had another idea We really played well and no exaggeration we outplayed them the 2nd half We pushed higher and everyone in the team stepped up. The defence was solid and Dieng was really solid and did everything asked of him The midfield also upped their game and Willock was a different player on the left. Chair and Charlie were off a little to be honest For me the WB were superb. And rarely would I say that they were both MOTM. But for me I have to eat so much humble pie about Dykes . He was a real handful and took that goal so well. Credit where it is due he looked impressive Finally the crowd was literally the 12th man, the noise on Barbet goal was fantastic. Great August and look forward to a better September
Coventry Match Thread on 17:55 - Aug 28 with 2232 views | jtuck | From BBC... Attendance: 14,774 But they also had a line-up listing Barbet in midfield!

Coventry Match Thread on 18:02 - Aug 28 with 2143 views | KerryE | Get behind our players, so my opinion stays the same. In terms of impact, he did have a major one imo.
Coventry Match Thread on 18:07 - Aug 28 with 2076 views | MrSheen | Jordy our best today over the whole game, kept us in it early. Dieng very solid and Dykes made a huge difference. Moses very lively going forward but seemed to be the hole Coventry ran into in the first half. Two other things - the ref must be the founder of the Campaign for Free Kicks from the Right Place. Only idea in his head, ignored people kicking each other. Real treat to see Coventry in their sky blue rather a generic away kit. Great support too, though the average age looked about 58.
Coventry Match Thread on 18:14 - Aug 28 with 1991 views | Stanisgod | Said at half time Johansen is playing too deep, second half pushed up 15 yards and ran the show, also Charlie and Dykes together are a real handful. By the way I'm 66, am I not allowed to go anymore 😠
| It's being so happy that keeps me going. |

Coventry Match Thread on 18:16 - Aug 28 with 1965 views | MrSheen | Average I said! All got together for one more caper.
Coventry Match Thread on 18:30 - Aug 28 with 1820 views | saxbend | I wonder what Robins was thinking when he took Waghorn and Gyokeres off together early into the second half. Coventry were so much weaker without them. Conversely Warburton showed that with his Dykes for Chair substitution that it's utterly irrelevant that I can't see anything in Thomas and Kelman. Warburton can and that's good enough for me.
