You do realise the GDP figure for ROI includes all the profits by the multinationals diverted to the ROI to avoid paying corporation tax in the EU. It is not actually GDP produced by the citizens of Ireland.
Ireland'S GDP IS 60% higher than Germany which is the richest country in the EU and the EU largest contributer.
Luxembourg has the largest GDP per capita as it is the biggest tax haven in the EU.
Perhaps the EU should equalise their corporation tax so all countries get their fair share of tax receipts. | |
