I don't believe anyone over the age of two could think BBM has made the whole greater than sum of its parts. He's done exactly the opposite - all but relegated a squad which could have (and has on several occasions) competed in L1, whilst having obvious limitations. The fact it hasn't done so on a consistent basis is on one man, and one alone. Any other spin is just that and for the gullible only. Bloody waste.
I think I was more patient than I perhaps should have been with the manager but I find it bizarre how much some people will still bend over backwards to defend BBM.
This squad is good enough to have finished above the relegation zone, injuries or not. Even in the games we've won, we've had injury problems. We started with McNulty, Roberts at LB and Lund up front in the 0-5 win at Wigan. We didn't really have Roberts, Ryan, Humphrys or Lund for the three back-to-back home wins recently, we had no O'Connell, McLaughlin, Humphrys or Baah when we had the back-to-back away wins at Burton and Shrewsbury.
Every manager has to deal with injuries, especially this season, but BBM unfortunately hasn't. Playing sterile football in a system that clearly didn't suit the players that were fit rather than preparing a system for those he had available is what led to six months without a home win and ultimately relegation. Not injuries or a lack of budget.
As others have pointed out, we've seen over the last few weeks just what this squad is capable of. Unfortunately, it's taken too long for the manager to figure out how to get it out of them and even then, his lack of game management skills continue to cost us valuable points.

We have all pointed out the poor tactics of BBM and all we got was youth team soundbites of 'it is about developing the players', 'they have played well over recent games'.But for the first time last night, I thought BBM looked like he had accepted relegation in his post-match comments in that his demeanour was downbeat. That is my perception and I may be wrong in this.

I have had to much bad stuff happen in my life in the last 2 weeks to get wound up about this result. A football club is for life not just the good times. Am I disappointed my Dad steered me into supporting the Dale over the the more logical choice for me, Southend. No, i’m Bloody proud of it. Always UTD

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that they all have one particular person in common.

I expect we would find the exit of one or two other trustees to be replaced by one in about September 2017 and then a raft of appointments dated November 2017. One would hope that all appointments can act independently and not be seen as strictly aligned to a prior appointee.
