Looks like a potentially career ending medical problem for him.
Unfortunate for the lad, hope he recovers from whatever it is soon.

I hope it's not as bad as it sounds. Best of luck Joe.

Best wishes to him. It doesn't sound good whatever it is.

The news from Grimsby specifies a medical problem, not one that might be associated with driving

Best of luck in resuming his career

His last car accident on the M65 caused a lot of “medical problems”

But hey ho... more important whatever he gets well soon

"Think there was a clue in drove home & ended up in hospital"

Not jumping to conclusions which reflect on his driving is important too

There lies an unanswered question

I would read it that he got home and then sometime later something occurred that required him to go to hospital, maybe an underlying condition/illness. However you look at it, wish him a a full recovery.

Obviously the full details are not covered in the piece but

It was a mistake.....falling asleep behind the wheel, .....there was nothing I could do about it.

It sounds a bit lame to me. Lucky to still have a licence.

Hope he gets well soon and that the latest issues didnt arise from making the same mistake twice.

Joe Bunney has tweeted that's he's been given the all clear & is looking forward to getting back to what he loves most accompanied by 3 photos of him playing for Dale.

He thanked a Professor of Haemostasis and Thrombosis which answers the questions about his diagnosis.

Apologies but could you explain what diagnosis that would indicate?

Blood clotting/thrombosis. Maybe a DVT

Haemostasis and Thrombosis are both to do with blood, more specifically to do with clots

Haemostasis deals with stopping bleeding and haemorrhages
Thrombosis is blood clots in the arteries and veins

Oh dear very serious then. Good to see the lad on the mend.

Not necessarily

It could be a relatively minor problem that was just difficult to diagnose, but with him being a professional sportsman it's going to affect his ability to continue playing so would've been investigated to a high level

If it was something serious, he'd be advised to hang his boots up. Instead, he's looking forward to getting them back on
