Any excuse on 22:19 - Mar 13 with 2735 views | britferry | there were a few outside the central police station with "honk if you're with us" signs tonight

Any excuse on 22:26 - Mar 13 with 2724 views | Vincent_Vega | Well mostly but yeah blm and extinction rebellion protests were allowed for a time at the time. I find the police have cracked down on this vigil harder than those previous protests though. Maybe due to experience but it gives the impression that this vigil isn’t as important as the messages behind the protests last summer which I don’t think is the case but further helps to place wedges in our society where division didn’t exist previously which is a sad inditement of today’s world

Any excuse on 00:01 - Mar 14 with 2657 views | Luther27 | Has anyone given any thought to this young woman’s family at all? In their hour has anyone given them the respect over the loss of a daughter that they deserve? Do you think they would want to see this splashed over every tv station without being given their time to grieve their loss.

Any excuse on 09:33 - Mar 14 with 2504 views | onehunglow | It is any excuse and the outrage should be aimed at those who gathered as they did,in numbers . Thousands have caught this because of gatherings like tbis. It was a demonstration against men.No more ,no less. Hopefully,Mis Dick defends her troops-thi time, for a change

Any excuse on 09:35 - Mar 14 with 2459 views | Kilkennyjack | It was a peaceful vigil. The police should be ashamed. This is Patel and Johnsons failed state. Cressida Dick will resign today. Nothing else will be acceptable to , at least, half the population.

Any excuse on 09:51 - Mar 14 with 2448 views | Kilkennyjack | A serving policeman has apparently abducted and murdered a vulnerable young lady. Then women have a peaceful vigil. 3 WPCs would have policed it well enough. The police had to work with the organisers. They didn’t. So then we see male police officers manhandling young women. Photos going around the world that shames London. Its the very worst outcome - and the Met created it. If you cant see that then you are the only person in the UK. Policing has to be better than this.

Any excuse on 10:26 - Mar 14 with 2468 views | raynor94 | Police were damned if they did damned if they didn't, put in an unenviable position. It was a vigil, no need to enter the bandstand for speeches.

Any excuse on 10:28 - Mar 14 with 2464 views | onehunglow | TerroristS,,which were given support and succour from Sein Fein MP s ,who were commanders of IRA . Killy is the very last comment on this subject. This was about a vigil in London yet it morphed into IRA love and Police hate. Back on topic. This vigil should never have gone ahead and those that organised stand damned. Utter disrepect to the family And the Trial has not yet been held

Any excuse on 10:34 - Mar 14 with 2463 views | Catullus | Oh here we go......I agree with you....AGAIN! The police needed to have a sensible coversation with the organisers and say we'll do this but people have to be sensible, they have to distance, wear face masks and if they refuse that we will ask them to leave. Then the organisers could convey the message and it could have gone ahead. A massive cock up over a womans vigil overseen by Cressida Dick, as a woman herself couldn't she have had some empathy, as a police chief couldn't she foresee the possibilities? It was a vigil, it shouldn't have turned nasty. They should have sent female officers and kept th men to as few as possible and as far back as possible. The Met screwed up. In reply to the question about the Everard family, NO, nobody is considering them or their feelings.

Any excuse on 10:40 - Mar 14 with 2454 views | onehunglow | Morning Cat. I disagree. Was the family agreeing to this, first of all. Secondly, how does this fit with distancing measures. We are not out of the woods yet and this should have been the main issue, female officers notwithstanding. I am not fan of Dick but she was between a rock and a hard place here. Anyway.

Any excuse on 10:40 - Mar 14 with 2456 views | majorraglan | It doesn’t reflect well on the police, but they are in a difficult position. Their job is to uphold the law fairly and to do that there has to be some consistency, you can’t have WYZ protest being allowed and ABC protest being prevented. A couple of weeks ago there were loads of people complaining that SWP didn't break up a protest outside outside a police station in Cardiff. This was a seemingly peaceful protest and based on what the media are saying it seems the policing was over zealous, but like most events there is normally a hardcore of people stirring it up and kicking off. Who is to stay the arrests weren’t justified? Not the greatest day in the history of British policing, but let’s see what comes out of. From what I could see last night on the news, the police were using their body cameras so if they’ve been over zealous it will be on camera.

Any excuse on 10:47 - Mar 14 with 2448 views | onehunglow | Better how? They changed the name in NI and it still aint good enough,is it? You are an anarchist,as are most plumbers.
| |
Any excuse on 10:48 - Mar 14 with 2448 views | Catullus | Obviously not but we don't pay plumbers to protect us, to uphold and enforce the law, we don't phone plumbers when our houses are robbed. The police are no different to any other job in one respect, they will have good and bad among them. When we see a very bad one though, it has a marked effect.
