Swansea City v Middlesbrough Saturday 6th March 2021 Liberty Stadium Kick Off 3pm Match Officials GAVIN WARD Adam Crysell and Matthew Jones Fourth Official : Trevor Kettle Fourth official Trevor Kettle is looking forward to meeting up with his old pal Alan Curtis, sometimes they laugh so much about Alan knowing where the kettle is they soil themselves and have to wash their hands. Alan of course is an MBE. ( Malted Biscuits Everytime ) LIVE ON SWANS TV & iFollow AND Middlesbrough blow hot and cold, it’s because they are from the north ish. There will be a full Friday round up and more tears from the clown to come. Middlesbrough have a manager called Neil Warnock, Neil lives in Cornwall, which is not too far away from Middlesbrough. Neil has lived in Cornwall since before now, he recently lived there a lot due to the fact there wasn’t any football. But then, he didn’t have much football to do either, he was like a boat without a rudder, a car without a wheel, a biscuit without the chocolate. In fact he was like a man without a penis. Neil has a big penis, he waves it about a lot. On Thursdays he waves it about and on Saturday mornings. He calls his penis ‘ My elastic lasso’ Neil flys his own plane from Cornwall to Middlesbrough for training sessions, be bought it off John Travolta on a summer night. Bruce Dickinson taught him to fly last year in the lockdown. Apart from that Neil is pretty normal, although most of the time he isn’t. We like Neil. Be like Neil. This is Neil’s favourite lasso penis swinger Middlesbrough used to pass the ball to each other, now they don’t. Here is a brief history of the club. Neil Warnock has just signed a penis extension, we would like to congratulate him for that. In 1801, Middlesbrough was a small farm with a population of just 25; during the latter half of the 19th century, it experienced rapid growth. Like Neil’s penis. A Welsh community was established in Middlesbrough sometime before the 1840s, with mining being the main form of employment. Wales loves a mine. This Welsh population grew rapidly after 1841 when John Vaughan established the first ironworks on Teesside (The Vulcan Works) at Middlesbrough. Vaughan had worked his way up through the industry at the Dowlais Ironworks in south Wales and encouraged hundreds of the skilled Welsh workers to follow him to Teesside. These migrants ( migrants ? ) included three figures who would became important leaders in the commercial, political and cultural life of the town: If Middlesbrough had not done this they would still only have twenty five people living there. Welsh miners in Teeside yesterday Past games Middlesbrough somehow won the last encounter at their place 2-1. It was in December. A memorable game was an FA Cup replay on the 17th January 1995, Swansea won 2-1 at then Ayresome Park. Oddly enough Linkin Park played Newcastle that night, but it wasn’t a game of football. The first game was in 1925 Swansea won 4-0 in a division two game. In 1926 Boro beat Swansea 7-1 which tells you there’s been a few goals about in this fixture, a cursory glance reveals more than twice the average goals have been scored for this amount of games. When the swans were going for promotion to the premier league in 2011 they won 3-4 at Middlesbrough and Craig Beattie scored, he ran and ran and ran when he scored, and was never seen again. Then manager Paulo Sousa said ‘ Ive never seen him run before, and anyway I don’t sign players’ The last picture ever taken of Craig Beattie running. He had never run anywhere before. Even Mark from ‘the’ Gower couldn’t catch him Swans Record v Boro Games won: 18 Games drawn: 11 Games lost: 20 They played for both sides This is a topical preview most football programmes carry in their content. Swansea City v Middlesbrough: Matchday Thread GAME DAY ! on 08:42 - Mar 7 with 1518 views | Chief | I know 700k is a lot for us to spend on a player but for an attacking player in this division it really is chicken feed, he really is one for the future. I'm starting to come round to the bony idea myself. What would be the harm in a pay as you play deal until the end of the season? Even if he scored once between now and the end of the season it could worth it.

Swansea City v Middlesbrough: Matchday Thread GAME DAY ! on 08:59 - Mar 7 with 1494 views | angryjack | No it wouldn't be worth it as he not a team player in the way we play won't run channels close defenders down our game at moment is as much we do off the ball more than with it..that's how our defensive record so good ..work rate and her got none..same as CH I think he one reasons we gone off boil a bit
Swansea City v Middlesbrough: Matchday Thread FRIDAY FRIDAY ! on 09:08 - Mar 7 with 1483 views | Brynmill_Jack | Yes but we were under the cosh for large periods in the second half. It didn’t make for comfortable viewing - Boro’s corner kicks from McNair were as good as I’ve seen, almost always hitting the spot and gave us serious problems. For the record I don’t think Boro would have equalized if we had subbed Hourihane instead of Smith - we needed Smith’s work rate to break up Boro’s attacks late in the second half and Fulton was left exposed for the equaliser as CH was nowhere to be seen. Could have cost us two vital points. We’re not always going to get last minute penalties to dig us out of the cachu. I think Bennett has to play if fit because he adds a calmness which assures his young defensive partners at the back. No slight on Kyle Naughton (aka Kevin Roland) at all - he’s been magnificent this season. Bennett’s leadership helps Grimes out and I get the feeling Grimes plays much more confidently with Bennett backing him up. For me our best side is Woodman , Roberts, Cabango, Bennett, Guehi, Bidwell then Grimes, Fulton, Smith then Lowe and Ayew. If we have to Sub Lowe sub him with CH or Whittaker when the game is either safe or at a stalemate. So gutted about losing Morris though, so unfair on the lad. Final observation- Morgan Gibbs White is our biggest miss of all - I dare say that had he remained we would be up there with Norwich fighting for the title. We could have left Watford and Brentford squabble over third place. Hope we can sign him nex TV season whatever division we end up in.

Swansea City v Middlesbrough: Matchday Thread GAME DAY ! on 09:15 - Mar 7 with 1459 views | Dr_Parnassus | 700k is nothing. It was a value play as Derby were struggling financially and may come good in the future, a bit like Lowe with Wigan's financial issues. I can't imagine there would have been any cracking striker we could have got for that money. Norwich have Pukki and Brentford have Toney. We wouldn't be able to afford anyone that can compare to those, especially in January. Bony is worth a look at, but its the longest of longshots. When was the last time he had a game where he looked even a bit decent in the English leagues? He hasn't played for a long time. The fact we are even discussing it shows the nature of the squad Cooper has at his disposal and what happens when a club has no money available to spend. The fact we are in the position we are in is incredible. However back to Bony, I have a feeling it would also be tough to persuade his people to work with us so cheaply. I think he still has hopes of a move somewhere decent (China for example), an injury may scupper that chance. It' a big risk to take for a pay as you play deal, especially if you have a questionable injury record... which he does. [Post edited 7 Mar 2021 9:35]

He apparently only works for the mega money even though he is past even being a has been. We were caught out before. In this case,I doubt even our owners wouldn't be so dumb

Swansea City v Middlesbrough: Matchday Thread FRIDAY FRIDAY ! on 10:27 - Mar 7 with 1370 views | A_Fans_Dad | Without your rose tinted glasses it is called pure luck. On another day the ref could have given their first goal and not given our penalty. You cannot rely on luck saving us week in week out. Most of our players are putting in the effort to graft out these wins, but at what cost. When a real long term pro who normally runs all game like Ayew says "tired legs" are a problem then you better believe it.
Swansea City v Middlesbrough: Matchday Thread FRIDAY FRIDAY ! on 10:42 - Mar 7 with 1342 views | onehunglow | Ayew should have been subbed many times to protect him just this syndrome. It is player management. Arriola seems fresh,Whitaker must be busting a gut to get on Just suggesting if Steve is reading

Swansea City v Middlesbrough: Matchday Thread GAME DAY ! on 10:54 - Mar 7 with 1347 views | Chief | That's precisely why I'm saying why it should be worth a go because he's very different to what we have up front. Even as a late sub when we're losing , we get plenty of crosses into the box, even if he occupies up 1 defender to give space for someone else, it might be worth it.

Swansea City v Middlesbrough: Matchday Thread GAME DAY ! on 11:13 - Mar 7 with 1336 views | nantywatcher | Give me strength! Bony was worse than useless two seasons ago - he has not played since and that people think he's capable of playing anything above National League is quite remarkable.
Swansea City v Middlesbrough: Matchday Thread GAME DAY ! on 12:12 - Mar 7 with 1293 views | theloneranger | The Chinese Super League bubble has burst. Their reigning league champions have been wound up, other clubs have gone into bankruptcy, many players haven't been paid for months, and attendances had plummeted before the pandemic.

Swansea City v Middlesbrough: Matchday Thread FRIDAY FRIDAY !but have to get on 13:18 - Mar 7 with 1235 views | Badlands | Ayew 40; 97. And he worked his socks off yesterday. But, he does lack explosive pace. Hourihane's contribution on the other hand was only dead ball kicks. His lack of pace up front was shocking. Accommodation Grimes and Hourihane is weakening the team. If you play CF defence or touch line with almost no service you are unlikely to score. Defence yesterday was outstanding (all player ratings I've seen agree). IMO, just as Cooper should make a decision on Grimes or Hourihane I think he should decide on Cabango or Bennett. Both are very good central centre backs with Naughton and Guerhi bringing different qualities and balancing the back three. In olden days the defence was right back, centre half and left back which is what we had yesterday but with 'wing backs''. Have to disagree with Brynmill on the comment about corners, they weren't hurting us at all.

Swansea City v Middlesbrough: Matchday Thread THE COLIN CONCLUSION on 13:52 - Mar 7 with 1187 views | krunchykarrot | For gods sake anyone suggesting bringing back Bony should go and watch Darts. Give Whittaker a run and the Yank looks as if he has a bit of pace which is what we are in desperate need of.
Swansea City v Middlesbrough: Matchday Thread THE COLIN CONCLUSION on 14:12 - Mar 7 with 1167 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Bony needed to be match fit and be good to go in january. He could have been a viable oprion had he done the hard yards with mike Flynn at Newport alongside Brandon Cooper and lost a few kg and banged in 10 goals at league 2 level. He chose not to prove himself possbily because he knew he was not up to the gruelling work requred. He effectively wanted a contract that gave him 2-3 month of getting into shape on good money. He should have done that at Newport county on bad money in front of scouts.

Swansea City v Middlesbrough: Matchday Thread GAME DAY ! on 21:00 - Mar 7 with 993 views | Catullus | Exactly! How fit is Bony, how quick is he these days and how sharp is he? It's absolutely ridiculous to suggest Bony can just turn up for a chanpionship club and be worth a spot. At the very least he'd have to train for a month to get up to speed on tactics and what Cooper wants. If Whittaker isn't ready yet and he's been here training and working hard, when would Bony be ready? Rose tinted doesn't begin to cover it. We might as well ask Latchford to play again.
