Credit to jack supple who’s compiled stats on recent managerial performance. Not sure how conclusive it is as some managers had money to spend, some didn’t. Also distorted by a few who only had a few games in charge.
Sure, done two tables (Championship data only since 2004-05). One sorted by win% and the other by points/game. Separated Holloway's two stints but combined Warnock's as the second one was only four games (did same for Ainsworth/Harford). pic.twitter.com/AskIpHY8fl
It's interesting info. 2 more wins would have put him up to 4th on win % whereas 2 less would have put him down 3 places. Ultimately its a points business he's in and 2 wins either way wouldn't make such a dramatic difference.
Hes in a crucial period now with a 25% win rate this season and lower points ratio, definitely needing to do what he has actually been capable of and stop a bad run with some positive results.
It's interesting because circumstances have been so different for the managers over the years.
I think if MW simply said, we need to improve the defence , how we play to stop goals and just bully out occasional dour wins we'd all be a lot happier.
Agree with this - when we are conceding so many soft goals he needs to accept that it is an issue rather than just getting annoyed at people why then call him on it
