I vaguely remember him as a half decent championship striker for Birmingham nearly 20 years ago.

I've not seen him on the tele. Has he retrained as a TV pundit / sports' reporter? is he well spoken with a good vocabulary? Is he there on merit as a result of his work?

I don't know. I don't have Sky, I'm not on facebook, nor twitter.

Learning to read clusters is not something your eyes do naturally. It takes constant practice.

He does seem to get around a bit doesn`t he?

Not many of the pundits impress me much.

I like listening to Neville and to a lesser extent Carragher, and quite like Merson.

Lots of the others are irritating (especially the women).

Am I allowed to say that?

I know it`s probably wrong but I`ve said it now.

But Andy Hinchcliffe is the worst co-commentator by some distance.

If he played as good a game as he talks he would have been captain of Barcelona instead of playing for Sheff Wed, and Man City when they were pants.

Grayson is awful too.

And Chris Sutton is a difficult listen - very argumentative with the commentator.
