Students @ Swansea Uni on 20:12 - Oct 16 with 1015 views | felixstowe_jack | Does it? Most new case are in the 18 to 25 age group whereas most of the customers who took advantage of eat out to help out were in the over 30 age group. It ended on 31st August and the large rise in new cases started towards the end of September when the youngsters started going to University. [Post edited 16 Oct 2020 20:13]

Students @ Swansea Uni on 21:19 - Oct 16 with 998 views | majorraglan | I had no issue with the Eat Out scheme as it as a good opportunity to restart the economy, let people get out and recharge the batteries, however it needed to be tightly controlled and social distancing measures enforced etc. Drinking only pubs are a different matter, I would have introduced a requirement for table service and strictly enforced the legislation, closure at 11pm, any transgressions would be an instant 1 month closure order with a mandatory licensed premises review along with a big fine, no if or buts. If you don’t give the youngsters somewhere to go, it will end up like Ogmore and well have more of these illegal raves. Venues taking the p holding large weddings in breach of legislation would instantly lose their license.

Students @ Swansea Uni on 22:42 - Oct 16 with 956 views | exhmrc1 | That is far less than I expected. 80% of Exeter's cases are students. Massive amounts's in Cardiff.
Students @ Swansea Uni on 17:52 - Oct 17 with 877 views | felixstowe_jack | Yes you are wrong again. The message was clear social distancing while eating out. Same message in East England but no huge surge in the virus. Why is it some people think it is okay to get legless in pubs and abandon social distancing. Why is people in Swansea, Cardiff and valleys as well as Liverpool Leeds and Manchester seem to ignore this. Not helped by a large number of students who also ignore it. These are supposed to be the brightest 50% of our youth. [Post edited 17 Oct 2020 17:53]

Students @ Swansea Uni on 18:49 - Oct 17 with 849 views | Dr_Winston | The same young students getting it now are the ones who should have been getting it in Mar-Aug, when testing facilities and Nightingale hospitals were sitting empty and unused. Instead they were locked down, only to be freed up right at peak virus transmission time. The summer lockdown has to be one of the most idiotic ways to go about managing a viral transmission largely harmless to anyone young, fit and healthy ever conceived.

Students @ Swansea Uni on 21:23 - Oct 17 with 781 views | A_Fans_Dad | Can we have some actual numbers please?
Students @ Swansea Uni on 15:30 - Oct 18 with 684 views | exhmrc1 | 675 cases in Swansea Bay in last week for a population of nearly 400000 and this includes students.
Students @ Swansea Uni on 15:34 - Oct 18 with 680 views | exhmrc1 | According to this 136 cases out of a student population of 23000. 0.58% 539 non Swansea University students out of roughly 375,000 population 0.14%
Students @ Swansea Uni on 15:45 - Oct 18 with 672 views | A_Fans_Dad | If those numbers are correct then his support of students is wrong.
Students @ Swansea Uni on 16:21 - Oct 18 with 661 views | exhmrc1 | I would be stunned if there are only 136 students in Swansea University with this. It doesnt fit with what is happening elsewhere. 80% of all cases in Exeter are students at the university. Cardiff has had loads and they have been mass testing one of their Halls of residence. Nottingham which has 2 universities has seen massive numbers since students went back. Places like Newcastle, York, Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester and Liverpool which have very high rates and have more than 1 university. Bangor and Aberystwyth universities are being reported as being the reason for the increase in Gwynedd and Ceredigion . Public Health Wales is reporting 464 Residents outside Wales have had the virus in the last week. They said these are mainly Welsh students studying outside Wales and the figure has been reducing over the last few days.
