Is something expected to happen today? I didn't think anything was happening. Might give Nandos a go later that's about the size of it. Maybe Gianni will be in there.

I just bought a programme for the Forest game. Psychologically for me the season has now begun. £3.99 + 99p shipping charges. I live in West London. Why are they sending it to me on a ship? Where the fcuk are they being printed?

A rescue dog is saying (i guess indicating if one wants to be pedantic) that there's somebody still alive buried under the rubble in Beirut.
Blimey, one month ago today. Hope they find them and they're still alive. They're asking for quiet to try and hear if anybody is shouting down there, so that's most likely why.

An avalanche of activity was apparently expected after the Dickie signing but no sign of it. Wonder if there's a signing they're trying to keep under wraps and so aren't briefing the usual sources? Or there are just other hold-ups with targets...
Doing the season preview and the stand out thing is how few players have been signed.
Norwich, Coventry, Birmingham, Forest, Wycombe have gone a bit mental, but four permanent signings (Thomas, Dykes, Dickie, Amos) is quite a few relative to a lot of the division. Basically every team in the league has sold and released more than they've signed.
Number of signings... Brentford 2 Watford 2 Forest 5 Norwich 11 Bournemouth 0 Cardiff 1 Stoke 4 Swansea 5 Derby 3 Middlesbrough 1 Millwall 4 (three loans) Preston 0 Huddersfield 2 Blackburn 1 Bristol City 2 (one of them big fat Chris Martin) Barnsley 1 Birmingham 6 Cov 7 Luton 4 Reading 2 (one of them Ejaria who was there already) Rotherham 5 Sheff Wed 5 Wycombe 7

Put's us in 7th place in terms of number of signings so not that bad.
We know there will be a couple more based on interviews with MW.
I would imagine a loan striker, LTC on a free and 1 more coming in.
I know Chris Martin is a lump and you don't like him but on a free would he not have been a decent option? Even with a loan striker thats 2 out and out strikers in the squad for a compacted season. Oteh just isn't good enough and we dont know about Ramkilde yet

* Sorry - mucked that up and somehow deleted rather than edit. This was about Ody Alfa being around and maybe ideal for an outing for him before being loaned out for League 2 experience - but I note his preferred position is on the wing...

Given some of the rumours that came out of Derby County, it's not his appetite for food you need to worry about.
"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the Earth all one's lifetime." (Mark Twain)
