Correction, Ealing Council won every appeal going. There was a lot more that the club could do, including starting construction when all legal avenues were exhausted in November 2018.

And Tony did know that it would take a long time. In August 2014 he considered scrapping the project due to delays.

In the meantime, I suggest we focus this thread on Eze rather than go off on a tangent about Warren Farm, a horse that after 8 long years is well and truly dead.

I think you make some good points, Benny, but I would make two more.

Ealing Council won the cases because they were the owners.

In November 18, Rangers still needed planning and permits which couldn't have been done beforehand. If they had started without either they would have been shut down, would have had to reinstate at their cost.

Agree with all of that, dane.

I think with Eze, though, we would reject bids as low as £12m as he has two years to run on his contract, but your point is good.

Yes, it would. In itself, the valuation is too low. Furthermore, Palace's offer was made up of an £8million fee plus £4million add-ons that were tied into unlikely outcomes such as Crystal Palace qualifying for Europe. Eze is still under contract and QPR can comfortably sell him for £12million in January should no one bite in the summer.

Accepting such a deal would send out a signal to other clubs that QPR are still weak when it comes to transfer negotiations and set a precedent for future dealings. With the new strategy and foundations firmly in place, this summer represents a watershed moment for the current board. I'm pleased to see that so far they have held firm and not caved into early pressure.

I am not sighted of the detail of Palace's offer, so thank you for sharing the definitive offer that was made.

My point though is that in a C19 world, where FFP and clubs experiencing massive reductions to income generation, there is no black and white easy answers to transfer dealings. Most clubs outside of the Premiership and likely to be in real financial difficulty. The only things which separate us from them is that Hoos has been exceptionally effective as CEO and Tony and friends bankrolling us each month to the tune of 1M plus. So what is fair value for a player and what is good business for the clubs in such a difficult environment is perhaps not as straightforward of easy to judge as some might consider.

Reading back through this thread in its entirety there is a strong element of some preparing the groundwork for a slagging off of QPR if a penny less than £20m is accepted for Ebere. I can pretty much guarantee that he will be sold for an undisclosed sum, possibly with an addendum of "believed to be..." by whichever report you are taking the info from. Since Ruben took over as head honcho, and Amit was made Chairman I feel a whole lot happier about sitting back and trusting that QPR have done the best they possibly can in any given situation.
There is a large online cadre of people who approach anything done by the club in a negative manner regardless which, in my mind, begs the question why do you bother supporting QPR if you can't see any good in it? There is no physical methodology of going back to a time when the sun shone out of QPR's ar se in those posters imagination so what are they hoping to get out of using QPR as a vehicle to be the focal point of their current disenchantment with life?
I am not blinded to some of the issues that are raised over the threads in the posts but to go on an negative offensive over every little move they make must be soul destroying and joyless.

The grass is always greener.

I agree with a lot of that but my experience of some posters is that despite the criticism, they love and support the club as much as I do (and potentially more). People have different ways of showing it that is all. I would just add though that there are the odd exceptions to that. These are probably just WUMS that should be ignored if possible.

Bouncing this back up because 'the media' are now reporting the following clubs have an interest:
Palace
Newcastle
Fulham
West Ham
Villa

5 clubs make an auction and will push the price nearer our estimate.

Having an interest and making a bid are very different things though.

All this bleating seems pretty unfair against club.
1) they seem to have spotted some talent.
2) they've paid sod all for said talent.
3) they've developed talent.
4) seem to getting good offers and not accepting low offers like people said they would.

Surely that's the model the club set out to achieve.

There is a possibility of a late entry that could put the price to £20m. But reckon £16m plus add ons might be the price. Fulham are probably going to make a decent bid, Palace may panic and then we get near the £20m. We could all get blindsided and a new bidder comes in, all are happy and job done.
