Eze. on 03:43 - Jul 31 with 5683 views | timcocking | Couldn't help but notice reports yesterday said Bournemouth had sold a defender for 40 million large! Fcuking bad value at the best of times, especially now. So it'd be nice, just for once, if we got a good price. It's like we sell our players with a zero taken off usually. 20 million, sure. 4 million, get fcuked.
Eze. on 07:47 - Jul 31 with 5579 views | cpgerber | That defender would easily play in most national teams, has bad luck that he has Van Dijk and De Ligt in front of him in the NL national team. Two of the best defenders around at the moment. So 45m for Ake is not ridiculous money, certainly not with the money most top clubs have at their disposal at the moment.
Eze. on 09:44 - Jul 31 with 5375 views | TheChef | A Villa mate was asking about him yesterday - is 20m still a reasonable asking price? Anyway if we can get a bidding war going and pocket that amount of cash to bolster the squad, that would be nice.

Eze. on 13:51 - Jul 31 with 5207 views | cpgerber | To put Ake’s 45 million into persective: Sven Botman: Ajax => Lille Defender 8 million euros Senior Ajax appearances: 0 Once a champions league club entets the equation, the money gets silly.

Eze. on 10:12 - Aug 3 with 4861 views | enfieldargh | I would be really dissapointed if we got less than 25million

Eze. on 10:43 - Aug 3 with 4745 views | bosh67 | Dear Crystal Palace. What is it about a minimum of £20 million that you don't get? How is £12m even an acceptable starting place? £20m is where you start morons. £20m is a steal when you see other average championship players going for at least that. You can't mug us every time... Unless we let you. If I was Lee Hoos and they do come in with that offer I would dismiss it and go down the legendary Felix Dennis route and say it's now £30m to you.

Eze. on 10:52 - Aug 3 with 4703 views | QPR_John | "How is £12m even an acceptable starting place?" Because they are dealing with QPR.
Eze. on 12:28 - Aug 3 with 4536 views | BAWHoops | £12m a good opening offer for us I think. If nobody else bids then that should comfortably hit £15m. If a bidding war starts then I'd imagine we will receive close to £20m. Interesting to see that Sheff U have started the bidding for Matt Cash at £10m. He's THE outstanding right back in the league and is young and English. Forest seem happy to deal at £15m and I'd imagine we will deal at £20m

Eze. on 12:47 - Aug 3 with 4490 views | A40Bosh | Fellow Bosh, It's like selling your house in a downturn. Your house is only going to get the current market value is even if an estate agent told you 6 months ago you should market it for 700K. It doesn't much matter how much you had spent on doing it up over the last 5 years and no one else in the road has a house anywhere near it. If people come sniffing but are only going to offer 600K then you have a decision to make on how badly you want/need to sell your home and sell or don't sell. We probably set a valuation on £20m thinking we could probably get £15m

Eze. on 13:41 - Aug 3 with 4413 views | BlackAndGoldRanger | Sean Gallagher on Twitter (of TalkSport) has said we rejected the "opening offer" He is reliable.
Eze. on 14:45 - Aug 3 with 4299 views | francisbowles | Should be asking for offers in excess of £20 million.
Eze. on 14:49 - Aug 3 with 4270 views | PinnerPaul | Not read A40Bosh post? We can ask what we like but that doesn't mean we will get anywhere near it.
Eze. on 16:01 - Aug 3 with 4195 views | rsonist | Ed Aarons at the Guardian (who is close to Palace) saying the same. FWIW, Alan Nixon is vehemently disagreeing and says they asked in January but have other priorities now, namely David Brooks and Ismaila Sarr (Watford).
Eze. on 16:04 - Aug 3 with 4172 views | Hunterhoop | Watford reckon they’ll be able to sell asset for £40m! Very expensive alternative!
Eze. on 16:49 - Aug 3 with 4068 views | BklynRanger | And Warbs has openly stated on the podcast a while ago that it's also about how much replacements will cost. If the whole market is depressed he may have reason to believe he can bring in replacements at correspondingly lower values.
Eze. on 17:05 - Aug 3 with 4004 views | francisbowles | Yes, I have read it and it is why I posted what I did. Estate agents sometimes put 'offers in excess of' particularly for their higher end properties. Therefore if the club want a minimum of £20 million, they should ask for offers in excess. The market will still dictate but it might focus the minds of those who are interested, make them think we are serious about the figure and may help to get an auction started.
Eze. on 17:33 - Aug 3 with 3924 views | bosh67 | The bottom line is that Eze is under contract. He has his head screwed on in terms of being professional I would hope. The club surely wouldn't sell him as a panic sale and if he starts the season with us then there is still the end of year window if clubs put in sensible offers then. Otherwise we cut the cloth accordingly and we still have a top class player until another club puts in a realistic offer for him.

Eze. on 17:38 - Aug 3 with 3895 views | PinnerPaul | Yep - fair enough.
Eze. on 18:05 - Aug 3 with 3855 views | NorthantsHoop | There is always the faint opportunity that we offer him an enhanced contract and he accepts, with a firmer offer acceptance trigger at say £25m, which is not what we have now, as the magic £20m is only what we seem to want to achieve, for clubs to currently purchase him. I get the feeling with Eze because of all the past rejections, he wants to find a club where he progreses. The risks for Rangers is he gets injured, poor form lower price or the Covid crisis deepens the financial state and the market collapses even more. I suspect that if current offers start coming in at over £15m the pull of selling will drive a deal through. Who knows Rangers might be waiting for the BOS deal to go through at the reported £4.7m, to decide on their options for Eze. [Post edited 3 Aug 2020 18:13]
