Grim news from Anglesey on 20:45 - Jun 21 with 4703 views | magicdaps10 | Goes to prove how quick this virus moves. Just seen the unbelievable scenes in SA1 with all the people down there with horses etc. People are not understanding that there will be another wave and likely to be worse... expected between Nov-Jan. I have read the emails the councils have sent out and it's not going to pretty.

Grim news from Anglesey on 20:47 - Jun 21 with 4697 views | Lohengrin | I do wonder if they came into the works and did mass testing just how many have had it but not known or are currently infected but unaware?
| An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it. |

Grim news from Anglesey on 20:53 - Jun 21 with 4667 views | magicdaps10 | Has to be asked what PPE was used and if social distancing was adhered to. With many places starting to reopen, will we start seeing situations like this happening more? Unfortunately there are too many out there with a blasé attitude to this virus.... If there are things like this happening now then you can see why they expect the winter to be worse. Tomorrow will be interesting to see on the high street.

Grim news from Anglesey on 21:02 - Jun 21 with 4628 views | Neath_Jack | Similar has happened out in Germany, in an abattoir i think i read. More than 1,000 were tested and 657 were positive.

Grim news from Anglesey on 21:03 - Jun 21 with 4626 views | Scotia | I think the Welsh government have to consider locking Anglesey down for a few weeks. I know someone involved in the contact tracing at the 2 sisters plant and apparently there is a bit of a language barrier between the authorities and staff. It's not looking good.
Grim news from Anglesey on 21:04 - Jun 21 with 4618 views | majorraglan | It seems the meat processing industry has had a few issues. There’s the 2 in Wales, there’s been been a similar outbreak at an ASDA meat processing plant in Kirklees, which caused ructions as the council kept if fairly quiet, there was also an outbreak at a massive plant in the US where they closed a facility employing over 3,500 people.
Grim news from Anglesey on 21:07 - Jun 21 with 4606 views | Swanjaxs | Migrant workers then 🤔

Grim news from Anglesey on 21:09 - Jun 21 with 4595 views | Garyjack | Apparently locals living near the plant were very concerned about the lack of social distancing. Large groups walking together into work with no PPE, mixing and socialising with the outgoing shift. That, in this climate is a ticking time bomb.
Grim news from Anglesey on 21:11 - Jun 21 with 4580 views | longlostjack | Same here in Germany. A meat plant owned by Clemens Tönnies who’s the Chairman of Schalke football club has 1300 confirmed cases amongst it’s employees in the Gütersloh area. Predominantly Rumanians and Poles living in cramped accommodation. Not good. [Post edited 21 Jun 2020 21:14]

Grim news from Anglesey on 21:15 - Jun 21 with 4556 views | exhmrc1 | This is the reason why stay local has been right despite many on here disagreeing with it. We are very close to closing it down locally and certainly dont need people from elsewhere coming here spreading it. Swansea hasnt had a single new case in 6 days. Today there were 17 cases of the hundred in Mid or South Wales. Yesterday there were 5. Of the 100 today 66 were in Betsi Cadwalladr 17 address unknown and 17 in Mid or South Wales. Lockdown in Angelsey and maybe part of Gwynedd is the answer however much Drakeford doesnt want it. There is also the question of whether they can remove the local in 2 weeks and whether schools in that area should open.
Grim news from Anglesey on 21:18 - Jun 21 with 4531 views | longlostjack | Again same in Germany. Locals were worried that the workers were seen in local supermarkets. The same locals who are happy to buy the cheap meat for their barbecues.

Grim news from Anglesey on 21:21 - Jun 21 with 4519 views | Scotia | SA1 has been busy for a few weeks it's basically a lock down Wind street. There seemed to be a bit of a travellers gathering in the area yesterday too, everywhere between the white rock car park and SA1 was really busy with horses harness racing. There was probably about a hundred of them in total.
Grim news from Anglesey on 21:26 - Jun 21 with 4475 views | Swanjaxs | Migrant workers then? Down arrow this one too you daft prìck 👠

Grim news from Anglesey on 21:29 - Jun 21 with 4464 views | Professor | The vast majority. It’s grim work for low pay. 2 Sisters are not the best company either. Been pinged a few times for breaking welfare and hygiene regs.
Grim news from Anglesey on 21:31 - Jun 21 with 4448 views | Flashberryjack | Lockdown should stay if needed, but let's get clear instructions of what you can and can't do. Open caravans sites up, but only to those that live within 5 miles traveling, why would you have caravan 5 miles from where you live.
| |
Grim news from Anglesey on 21:34 - Jun 21 with 4430 views | Swanjaxs | They need to get the full support of the NHS then, migrant workers are vital to our economy. The 2 sisters plant needs to be brought to account over this also.

Grim news from Anglesey on 21:44 - Jun 21 with 4388 views | Scotia | I actually agree with part of that, Drakeford's insistence that all of Wales moves out of lock down at the same time is daft. Anglesey and Wrexham are over 3 hours drive from the main areas of economic activity in Wales. The 5 mile rule though has always been stupid, I could understand 5 miles initially and then extending to something like 20 once cases were low enough, but not allowing someone to go to a different part of the same city is idiotic. That is the case for another fortnight. Those areas of the North need to be locked down and let the South carefully get back to some form of normality. I've heard the 17 cases that are "address unknown" are linked to communication problems with the employees in 2 sisters.
Grim news from Anglesey on 21:47 - Jun 21 with 4383 views | Professor | Absolutely. 2 Sisters poultry and their sister company 2 Ag Are part of the larger 2 Sisters Group-The UK’s largest food producer. We have had dealings with them. Although their technical team are great, the owner who is of Indian decent ( can’t remember his name) is a bit of a ruthless bar steward. Meat and especially poultry processing is reliant on Eastern European labour. A slaughter line in 2 Sisters will work on 180 birds per minute. Big plants like Sandycroft in Deeside and Llangefni do 1-2 million birds per week each. Communication of hygiene and biosecurity for food safety is hard enough. Without them we would not be getting much fresh chicken in the U.K. They supply KFC and several supermarkets
Grim news from Anglesey on 21:47 - Jun 21 with 4379 views | LeonWasGod | This. When it's in an area it's highly contagious. People would do well to remember that.
Grim news from Anglesey on 21:54 - Jun 21 with 4354 views | Professor | Wrexham and Deeside border us in Cheshire. That part of NE Wales is a big manufacturing area, so pretty crucial economically too. Anglesey needs this sorted to allow tourism. Local lockdowns are going to be a reality across the U.K. Perhaps of short duration to break transmission cycles. The second wave may be very Sharp local peaks rather than National
Grim news from Anglesey on 22:04 - Jun 21 with 4317 views | exhmrc1 | Ive really wondered why these address unknown cases have suddenly started appearing. Could it be because they were living in cramped conditions and didnt say where they were livingg. What the figures show today are numbers of cases in Gwynedd as well as Anglesey. I suspect there are workers going there from the likes of Bangor as it isnt that far so closing it down will be more difficult and the lockdown over a larger area if that is the case. Drakeford moving out of lockdown is the same as Johnson. The difference is Johnson did it with the figures high in te North and Drakeford is waiting for everywhere to get down to minimal figures.
Grim news from Anglesey on 22:16 - Jun 21 with 4290 views | WxmJax | Wouldn't exactly call Wrexham a small area of economic activity. JCB, Kellogg's, Airbus, the largest factory in Wales just up the road with 6,000 employees and the surrounding factories that supply it along with the Deeside and Wrexham Industrial parks. 130,000+ jobs in total. The problem with the chicken factories is that they're literally working on top of one another, same at Airbus and many other places, that's how they operate. Unfortunately too many people are still blasé about catching it themselves.

Grim news from Anglesey on 23:13 - Jun 21 with 4196 views | majorraglan | Lots of migrant workers over here (especially some of those brought over by agencies) work and live in some pretty harsh conditions including sharing rooms with colleagues. They are vital to the economy and a lot do jobs that British people don’t want to do.
