Can someone recommend a good boxset?

Just finished Mr Mercedes and looking for the next watch. Netflix and Amazon Prime preferably.

WTF she sees in Jimmy I don't know?

Maybe she finds a maverick lawyer really, really sexy?

The character Mike is incredible in BCS, Jonathan Banks is genius as is Bob Odenkirk and many others.

'Into the Night' on Netflix is very good. About the sun killing everyone and a group on a plane essentially just have to avoid seeing sunrise. Is originally a Belgian show so the English voice over can be a little jarring to begin with but you get used to it very quickly.

Quarry, doesn’t get mentioned much but I quite like it. About a Vietnam vet coming back home in 1972, can’t find work til he gets offered contract as a hit man.
Also Banshee if you missed it a few years ago, 4 seasons. Ivana Milicevic is a beautiful woman and spends plenty of time naked too.....

Starting watching White lines, enjoying it so far.

On IPTV so can't get subtitles for the Spanish but doesn't affect the storyline.

Really?

This type of series is right up my street and I'm the type to persevere & give anything a go, but this is absolute dog Shyte. Watched two episodes last night (fell asleep during the third even though I wasn't even tired)

Far-fetched as fook, can't relate to any of the characters and it doesn't engage you one bit.

I want it to be good but I can't 😔

AMOW

Got through Justified a few years ago, really enjoyed it, perfectly cast. Timothy Olyphant is brilliant and I've yet to see anything with Walton Goggins that I haven't enjoyed - The Shield was another good one with him in it.

If you haven't already, try these....

Bosch
Hunters
Hap and Leonard
Goliath

Can you all put what broadcaster / provider you're watching them on please.

Also say if they are foreign with English overdubbed on it.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

I’ll give Hunters and Goliath a go as you obviously have excellent taste!

The Bosch ( Michael Connelly) and Hap and Leonard (Joe R.Lansdale) books are brilliant. Raylan in Justified features in a few Elmore Leonard books - another great author.

Walton Goggins is excellent in "Deep State" on Prime. The only set back is that he doesn't appear until the start of Series 2.

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

Walton goggins is a great name, should be a footballer

A few years old and a little bit silly but entertaining... "Braindead" on Prime.

Edit To state that it was only a one of season.

Just starting episode 3, enjoying it so far.

Bringing back loads of memories.

But, how the f*ck can you be enjoying it if you haven't got the subtitles on when they are speaking Spanish?

The Bosch series follows the Harry Bosch character from the books quite well but the storylines are altered significantly. The most recent series works in the plot of Dark Sacred Night but without many of the the major players from the books, and the timelines are different. I’ve recently gone back to the earlier books and accidentally started one and then picked up another thinking it was the same one so now I’ve got two on the go.

*edited, hopefully makes sense now. I must learn not to trust my iPhone to type what I write....

Yep - plot lines sometimes come from more than one book. The book series also follows Bosch in real time so that had to be dropped - the whole Vietnam bit for a start.

I’m a huge fan of the books (same with Hap & Leonard) so was quietly dreading the tv versions fûcking them up. Pretty decent job on both counts though. The writers were heavily involved ( both get executive producer credits) and the long series format helps.

The recent Spartacus series is also well worth a look.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Another couple I really enjoyed....

Turn, about George Washington’s spy ring and the struggle for independence from the British. Well worth a watch.

Hell on Wheels - the race to build the Transcontinental Railway. It might not sound riveting but it’s really good.
