Came across this on YouTube , obviously a season before we should of been champions but this was the nucleus of that team A few observations
Gerry & Stan really were world class and watching them you can see that even today they could play for a top team Stan dives for the pen ala Rodney marsh Typical rangers concede a crap goal in the last minute ( it must be our DNA) Loved the admiral shirts Leach had no pace I miss Highbury Also a question for the older fans , why was Don Rodgers so bad for us?
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

The interview at the end was nice with Stan, a bit about him coming off the transfer list, he was only on it to get more money and as always JG gave in
I remember him getting a new contract for 100K 3 years.
Always makes me laugh when I think about Don Roger's, he used to run with his head down . One day at the Loft end he chased a through ball, missed it and ended up falling over the wall head first into the fans. Much laughter ensued

I remember vaguely that they had a cool kit. I was only 4 or 5 years old but we used to watch Match of the Day and I thought Carlisle were one of the best teams in the whole world. Cos their kit was cool.
"The opposite of love, after all, is not hate, but indifference."
When Carlisle scored (we won 2-1 I think), only two people jumped in the whole ground, they were standing halfway up on the left hand side of the School End as you looked from the Loft.
Great interview afterwards, getting the pair of them in the studio the day after the game and both very candid. Puts to absolute shame the appalling sycophancy that passes for interviews these days.

If Stan dived, it was just rewards for Terry Neills penalty at Highbury in '68. Not that I knew much about it, but my mates dad told us all the way home that Rangers were robbed.
