Multi millionaire. When is enough?

Shows it's not about the money but always on the want, always trying to do a good deal, always being in the public eye, wanting more. More. More.

Fks sake, retire gracefully will you.

I don't think any celeb does any charity work for free. A few years ago it was revealed all those celeb/charidee editions of shows like Catchphrase, the Chase etc the celebs still get paid a fee of about £3k .
Bob Geldof became a millionaire on the back of Live Aid.

As someone who doesnt like Mondays and feels they have been lured into a rat trap, i thought it only fair to (mildly) defend Sir Bob.

He had a pretty successful music career globally before Live Aid, with the Boomtown Rats. He then went on to own and sell various TV production companies at a major profit. So not sure that it can be said that he became a millionaire on the back of Live Aid as he pretty much was before that.

However, Harry Rednapp is of course a complete Khaaant.

Never knowingly understood

So the greedy fcuker is worth upwards of £10m but still willing to accept £20k from a "charity"...khunt of the highest order.

It's not the fact celebs take money, its the fact that they imply they are doing it out of the goodness of their hearts so, you should too. As if they are exemplary role models which is why they were asked (hired) to do it in the first place.

And incite you to do charity work for free and also take money out of your pocket that will, in fact, goto their fees, just because they are such wonderfully talented people.

It is the fakery of it all along with the machiavellian nastiness of it all that makes you wanna stop giving to charity really. Feckers!

I wouldn't worry about 'allegedly'. He was one of a group of managers accused of taking bungs in a book about 20 years ago. Clough, Graham, Allardyce, Venables were all named yet not one of them sued the author ........strange that.

I watched it last night was a bit tame and the big revelation seemed to be celebrities like money.

They got him to wear a t shirt for a fake charity and post something on instagram for 20k although all the financial stuff was done through a third party. They said at the end he had paid the fee to one of his charities. he came across as a bit of a prat, the talent agency charging this came out of it far worse.

Yes, I watched it too. I thought they did as much as they could to show the greed. Well done Dispatches.

I only hope that all those people he think he's 'such a lovely man' now have just a little doubt in their minds as to what a 'lovely man' he really is.

Ya, he is.

Even my Sister, who's Rangers and clued-up, wanted him to win that Jungle lark. I told her what he was really like and she was amazed. That's how good his press is.

I used to give to a few charities for a number of years. Parenthood was a big factor in why I stopped as was the fact one of them had plush offices in Victoria and the top execs. earning (sic) £300-500k a year. All of that dilutes the money going to what it's intended for.

How many p's in the £ actually ends up going on the cause? I'm sure I read years ago one big charity it was something like 6p/£1 after all the 'overheads' were taken into account.

In the US there's a massive cancer charity called something like 'Cancer Aware'. They're just a marketing tool, they don't actually do any cancer research or fund cancer research they just make people 'aware' of cancer and they get donations in the £millions which they just spend on advertising/marketing about themselves and 'overheads'. A con job really as people think they're doing research etc when they're not. They're just earning free money.

Shame because there are so many good charities that desperately need money but I can no longer line the pockets of someone who wants a penthouse office and £350k/year salary.

The only charity that doesn't pay six figure salaries to Executives is The Salvation Army. The head of that receives a Territorial Leaders wage.£15,500 per annum.

Qu'elle surprise. Rosie's offshore bank will be pleased.

Slimey toad now claiming that he was deceived:
https://www.heart.co.uk/showbiz/tv-movies/harry-redknapp-dispatches-documentary-

To be honest, the documentary itself is self-serving pap. 'Oh look at me, I live in Sandbanks, where properties cost £10 million on average.' Ironic then that it was the same documentary that filmed him asking for thousands to support a charity.

I like the Sally Ack.

They are one of the few charities that I contribute to when asked.

The rest can chug off to make Roly Polys.
