With the spread of this illness what are the chances of games getting called postponed and the season not being completed.....

What would the financial knock on effect be to lower league clubs.....

My all time favourite Dale player Mr Lyndon Symmonds

They’ve just cancelled a wrestling convention in Liverpool, totally expected and understandable and although the kids are gutted, they get it completely. There’s going to be a lot more we can’t do in the next few weeks, but there’s a bigger picture outside our own worlds. Unfortunately the uncertainty of what that picture looks like is causing the main issues right now.

Tranmere were one of the first to sell next years season tickets back in early February before this crisis became clear. And their cheapest ticket was £342 at the time despite facing relegation to League Two. I remember Bury selling their season tickets so far in advance and the poor sods lost their cash.

I for one want to see what the season outcome is going to be and what the club do on future pricing if, as expected, we all lose 6 games from this season. I suspect they may have to reconsider any expected price increase. I am not expecting a refund if the season finishes early.

Could be worse; you could have a weekend in Skegness booked.

Not only am I not expecting a refund for the lost games, I don't want one and wouldn't ask for one.

This will hit the club hard enough as it is in terms of financial pressure, so any requests for refunds and the like is putting the club in greater financial peril.

If we want a club to support when this lot is over, then (IMO) we need to bite the bullet and accept that these are exceptional circumstances, way beyond the clubs' control or influence and start afresh from the day the restrictions are lifted.

Unless the EFL compensate every single member club, for every single penny they have lost, then any such request is unfair.

Diane Abbott has just been on the news talking about Coronavirus, the stats are horrifying...

231029 deaths from 112 reported cases.

Batten down the hatches.

Totally agree, especially as that money was spent a year ago and we accepted then it was gone as the choice was made to give it to the club. Definitely don’t expect it back.

Does anyone else have an advert to the right side of the message board advertising McAfee security and anti virus software? Oh the irony

I only found out today about the Sri Lanka cancellation. I also got an email saying I've won 25 quid on premium bonds

Talk about losing a pound and finding a shilling

This website seems tone decent without any apparent "agenda" Just states total number of cases, number of new cases, number in a serious condition for all countries. I think it is updated every day

https://virusncov.com

UK currently has had 798 cases but seems not to have had a new case for 24 hours. 18 people have died and 20 are critical

Less cases than Norway which is where my daughter lives which is a surprise. They seem to be on lockdown now and she can't come to the UK for Easter

As we have stopped testing outside of hospitals, we don’t know how many cases there are in the uk. The total today using limited data is well over 1000, and another 10 deaths in last 24 hours. Govt website figures as of 9.00 14/03/20

I went to Lidl in littleborough earlier, chaos. No toilet roll, hand wash, anti bac wipes. No fresh bread, and little pasta. Queues at every till, saw a bloke buying about 20 packs of nappies. Someone told me people were fighting at Asda over toilet rolls. It was like the run up to Christmas

Google. WHO sanitizer and you will find the way to make your own. WHO have been using this forlow income countries.

I am old enough to remember the manchester evening news providing a great source of toilet paper

Government and supermarkets negligent in not placing. maximum quantities on purchases.

Agree that the actual cases will likely be far higher than the official ones. The only place you will now be tested is hospital, yet if if you feel you might have it but aren’t seriously ill then hospital is the last place you should go.

Exactly, so the government will really have no idea how many people have it, so I’m sure sure how you measure the peak . Unless it’s just going to count deaths!

This virus has been on the horizon since Xmas yet we appear to be totally unprepared to deal with the crisis. Some of the emergency measures that are being discussed in the media are pretty unrealistic to my eyes. Asking old people to self isolate for 4 months at a time ? That's not going to happen in my opinion. We seem to be swinging from one extreme to another without a real coherent plan. I'm not impressed with the leadership of the nation at the moment. Johnson appears to be overwhelmed by the magnitude of the task already. Surrounding himself with nodding dogs in the cabinet won't be helping him in the slightest.

The Brexit furore has caused us to take our eyes off the ball at a critical time. I'm expecting it to be delayed until this crisis is resolved. It would be an act of national madness to try and leave the EU with all the disruption that could ensue on top of the disruption that this virus will have caused before it's contained. I read the other day that the corona virus is expected to become an annual event although the development of a vaccine will mitigate it's effects in the future.

want to completely isolate all 70+. A clown surrounded by clowns and a big majority.

Well we finally will have got rid of the house of lords.

If this goes through surely there will be civil unrest.

Back to Eyam.

To be fair though whilst disappointing and gutting its a bit of a first world problem having pleasure time disrupted.

There are plenty who do not have the cash to stockpile anything and work on a weekly budget.

Supermarkets apocalyptic this weekend no toilet roll no rice no dry pasta.

Those on a weekly shop and budget will be massively inconvenienced and will be feeling more pain.

I think delay is inevitable, given the already stringent timeframe and the unlikelihood that face-to-face negotiations will progress as expected. There may be other ways and means, but they can wait whilst more immediate concerns occupy us

But just as a reminder, we have already left the EU. What remains to be negotiated is the terms of trade. It's also worthy of note that border security has suddenly become a rather more pressing issue to countries remaining in the EU

We are not "totally unprepared" as you suggest, but i'm certainly not going to become involved in a politics-led wrangle about this. People will vent, so be it
