Steve Cooper has reiterated that Swansea City will not be making any signings in the January transfer window, despite reports claiming that they were on the brink of securing a loan deal for Liverpool's Rhian Brewster.

But speaking after the stalemate with Gerhard Struber's men, Cooper once again stated that his side were not going to bring any players in next month.

"No update, apart from, it's common knowledge that there's no money," he said on Brewster. "Until such time that changes, in terms of personnel, I won't think about it but we won't be bringing anyone in."

No signings. None permanent, or on loan. None.

1 point off the play offs wage bill massively reduced as well.

And still we are skint fukcing joke.

This guy has zero ambition and zero backbone.
No mention of the fact that if Ayew gets sold we would have cash and a massive reduction in wages to fund a player or two.

I think he'll get a bit of a bollocking for that statement.
I doubt we'll bring in any major signings, TBH I don't think it's worth investing while Cooper is manager.
1 point of play-offs we may be but does anyone seriously think we could promoted with this manager?

Are you naive enough to think that he would say that to the press?

Welcome to the next level.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Why shouldn't he say that to the press, every manager before him since the yanks took over has said the same thing, we can't buy unless we sell.
But he didn't say that according to the OP.

He did say that until the financial situation changes, there will be no signings. So it's possible we may make signings. But that will only happen if we sell Ayew and/or Rodon.

It would be equally naive of him to present our financial outlook to the entire world and in particular those clubs / players / agents who may be the focus of our new found ‘wealth’.

Yes he will be off a couple of Spanish teams interested.

Wages transfer fee will be the problem my guess as they want him for nothing with us paying half his wage.

The stupid thing is last time we were in this division we finished third playing great football, dominating teams and scoring lots of goals with a squad mainly built on free or cheap transfers. Those players are still out there, we just can’t be arsed to look for them anymore.

And even if we found them Cooper would have them playing percentage football.

We need

New owners
New manager
New side.

Apart from that would leave it as it is.

Last time we had a style and structure in place to develop and go forward. We brought players in to fit the recognised style we had and it was a seamless transition.

Now we a just a mess from top to bottom, board, manger, players and even the trust. People are saying we are only a couple of players short of a promotion push. So what if we managed to get into the play offs, we certainly wont be top two, and somehow fluked promotion. Does anyone really believe that we would do anything but come back down with bigger dept. The mess at the club needs to be sorted out before realistically we can move forward.

We had all that in place when Monk was given carte blanche.

And we all know the Monk appointment was the beginning of the end. He did not fit our style and personally decided to deconstruct everything we had in place.

Sums up the state we are in. Make a statement like that then advertise season tickets for next year. Couldn't make it up.
