Saints Are Like Brexit ! No One Truly Understands The Issues on 11:49 - Oct 30 with 774 viewsButty101

This is a classic click bait Nick article . Its all Corteses fault for mentioning ambition lol

Nick you can only speculate along with the rest of us, as to how things would have panned out had Marcus still been here. He may well have been happy to invest we will never know.

Whats Gao done wrong.......
Whats improved since he came on board?

The club is a shambles, cant get a the new kit out on time, we have suspect sponsorship - has the club really recived a penny? Les Reed left a year ago and has never been replaced. Wilson has gone not replaced. The assistant manger has left and not replaced.
It goes on and on......

City went through the motions and did enough with a B team that hardly broke sweat, Saturday may well be different as they need the points and the goal difference

This article is no more than PR spin in favour of the club. It is broken and rotten with no quick fixes. The parallel with Leeds is very appropriate although Bolton is more like it

And the White Knight is talking backwards And the Red Queen's off with her head

LOL so no one understands brexit or saints boardroom... Apart from nick lmao
Nick will the UK have left the eu by Jan 31st or will another extension been added by then?
Perhaps you could enlighten us all on the mystery that is LD sports? You mocked cortese for the contract with 'chilworths biggest' VEHO yet no mention that we're now advertising a company that,,, well what do they do? They don't have an operational website, can't make any purchases online. I'm sure if this had been the case with a cortese associate your powers of investigative journalism would be at full throttle!

The article if any of you bothered to read it and I suspect that a few of you didn't attempted to give a balanced viewpoint based on the fact that someone screaming Gao out on social media really doesn't have a clue on what he actually is in regard to the club.

Butty says that no one knew what Markus really wanted, strange as he mapped that out when he first came and then when Cortese blew the summer budget in January 2010 and failed to get promotion had nothing to spend in the summer.

He then went on to suggest the club is a shambles because they can't get a kit out on time, that is the least of our problems and the last thing to judge whether the club is a shambles or not, the kit situation was definately not something Gao would have been in the loop of.

Has the club received a penny from LD ? I don't know and I don't know whether Espanyol who they also sponsor have, but it reinforces the point that like Brexit no one can see what is truth and Rumour, those in finance have suggested this is a classic example of a club owner trying to inject cash into the club to get around the football fair play financial rules.

Wilson has been gone for a fraction over two weeks now, you dont get instand replacements at that level of job.

Lastly Rohl has been replaced by Richard Kitzbichler, but the balance of the coaching staff still isnt right.

Tyger, I havent said I understood it, this article merely tried to explain it, I covered VEHO earlier on, you are right finding out about LD Sports is difficult, their website is not great and it's not easy to get info, unlike Veho where we could see on companies house all about them, as i said it could be that Gao is trying to get the money into the club and avoid fair play rules a certain amount of owner sponsorship is allowed if it is consistent with what is being given back in return.

Finally Cocklebreath im not on the payroll nor going mental, im just trying to give some perspective and point out that a mere month ago we all thought it was going swimmingly, we were in the top half of the table after 5 games and could have been higher, I did point out the real reason we are in the bottom 3 as I have been for 3 years, then I was also accused of being mental or having something against a couple of players.

Our 9-0 defeat was nothing to do with the owner, nothing to do with shirts, nothing to do with sponsorship or a lack of investment, it was purely to do with we were playing players in the centre of defence that were not up to the job

The 9-0 defeat wasn’t just about the defence, it was also only seemingly having only one midfielder who can put a tackle in, and if he has a bad game we’re f*cked.

Nick If you're willing to accept that LD sports could be a scheme to sidestep financial fair play and bring money into the club then at the same time it must be agreed that it could also be a vehicle used to divert funds not for the benefit of the club but that suits the owner.
Now- I am no financial expert I have no knowledge of Chinese finance other than the scraps of information I've read of the restrictions living under a communist regime. I gather it is difficult getting money out of the country - the cynic in me then puts 2+2 together for finding the motive for gao being here & for the design
Of LD sports - either way the answer will either add up to 4or 5
It seems its likely to be one way or another but if you're willing to accept the theory it's a method to beat ffp surely you have to accept the other side of the coin as well.
Until gao speaks or does his talking through actions how can anyone show him any faith. He's stated we're a pig that mustn't be fattened - not sure how that's going to solve the centre back issue that is crippling the club and has done for the past few years.

I did read the article and wasn’t in the least bit surprised that you shoe horn in a dig at Cortese.

It appears to be clear to everyone but you that things are in disarray on and off the field.

Reed went a year ago and we still don’t have a director of football, how long does it take? If we had to sack Ralph who now makes that call ?

I love the fact you think being an ice hockey coach qualified Kruger to take a prominent position at the club. It’s up there in my opinion with us bringing in the rugby coach.

We got to the premiership ahead of our 5year plan, no one knows how things would have panned out had Marcus still be alive.

So again did Kat sell out and not keep her promise when she sold 80% of the club ? What has improved under Gao’s tenure? I see a club that will be back in league 1 in 3 seasons if we carry on on this path.

Our 9 0 defeat wasn't anything to do with the owner? So not investing in the team isn't an issue, not providing the manager with sufficient funds for a new defender isn't an issue or anything to do with the owner?

Not speaking to the fans, being completely silent isn't an issue?

5 members of staff deserting the club in the space of 3 months has nothing to do with the man at the top?

Not fattening the pig - In other words, not investing an ounce into the team. Not an issue for you Nick?
You are talking nonsense Nick.

Our 9-0 defeat was just about the defenders? Nonsense, Rediculous comment. Yes our defense is rubbish but so is Burton's. They didn't let in 9 against Leicester? The Saints team put no effort in not for the first time thus year, due to not being motivated due to working in a club without any ambition. That is down to the owner.

I’m always amused to read these articles, when I see £60m of signings we can’t sell out on loan plus the dross we put out in defence week after week defended as not being that bad as people think yet Cortese was repeatedly lamblasted for wasting £3m on Mayuka.

Also how we are meant to be a well run club with great corporate governance yet we are the only club in the premier league who have to sell to buy players and have been for the last 6 years

As for Goa, well apparently he’s not done much wrong. So what’s he done right?

It must be a lot easier to understand the issues if you get the same access to the club as Nick seems to. If he's trying to win fans over or 'educate' us with these kinds of articles then he would do well to learn a lesson from the whole Brexit debacle and try to avoid patronising and alienating fans further.

I think Nick is correct when he says that Marcus delcared that the club would have to be self sufficient. That is a matter of public record and can't be argued.
All he said about Cortese was that his mouth was writing cheques that exceeded his level of authority. That seems to be correct too. Cortese made brash statements and the fans lapped it up. I'm just surprised that all these years later some still believe him. People believe Cortese because they want to .

That said the club does seem to be a shambles Nick. You can't deny that.
The kit matters to fans. It's the identity of the club. Not only was it late, almost from day one the fans were unanimous that it sucks. Maybe a minor issue but symptomatic of the deeper issues.
Wilson has been gone 2 weeks but we all knew he was going. Reed went ages ago and we haven't replaced him. Or Kruger (who I agree was an experienced businessman and didn't have to be steeped in football).
Finally that debacle on Friday will be a stain on this club for many years and will be used by others to ridicule us. If you think it was down to the centre backs alone you are deluded. It's been coming like a train on a track and finally it hit us.
As I've said before I'm yet to be convinced by Ralph. Friday those players were not good enough that's true, but they also stopped trying for the manager and I have no doubt there are reasons why.
Unless we get multi billionaire we will never go much further but fans aren't daft. They can see when the club is making a string of basic mistakes.

I disagree - You cant speculate what would have happened had Marcus still been here. We had an initial 5year plan to get back to the prem. Once there, whos to say what would have happened, we had a decent squad and maybe have been teased to invest as he caught the bug.

Why even bring up Cortese now? Its totally irrelevant to whats happening now. The only thing i would say, is that if Cortese had been over seeing this shambles you can bet Nick would be sticking it to the club. I like the rest on here, find his attitude bizarre as he comes across as a mouth piece for the club.

I would love to know what Nick thinks has improved under Gaos ownership but still waiting on that one.
