Not sure how true this is, but I was told that we hold the record for the heaviest defeat for any “English” club in any European competition?

Don't think so. Against who?

I know we lost 8-0 to Monaco but we were representing Wales. The only time we've competed as an English club was 2013 and I can't recall any heavy defeats

we lost 8-0 to Monaco in the cup winners cup, which of course we qualified through winning the Welsh Cup, so were not an "English team" in Europe.

I remember when I was a little kid Chelsea beat a team from Luxembourg 13-0 at home and 8-0 away.
Being a little kid and being told that away goals counted double I thought they’d won 29-0.

You Chelsea fans have good memories

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Is this thread about us recording the heaviest defeat?

We stuffed Silema Wanderers 12 nil and 5 nil to record a 17 nil aggregate in 1982

Jeunesse Hautcharage were really worried for the return leg at Stamford Bridge ...

Their team had 3 brothers, plus one of their players wore glasses, one of their substitutes was just 15, and one player was born with only one arm (not the goalkeeper 😂)

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

Crikey the only Luxembourg team I could name is another Jeunesse [Esch] and Liverpool failed to beat them out there but did manage to win the second leg [just about].
