Remember going there a couple of weeks before the Cup Final in ‘82 when Glenn Roeder got sent off for a ‘professional foul’. We knew that if the final went to a replay that he would be suspended. The first game at home of that season was the debut for the omniturf pitch, a Tuesday night game which we lost 2-1. The upper Loft was still in the final throes of construction and wasn’t open, just the lower terrace, it was the return of the Loft as the home end after a season where the old Loft didn’t have a roof on it. | |

An evening game must have been about 15 years ago. Got to Luton train station and the coppers and station staff wanted to send me south to London. They couldn't comprehend that there are one or two QPR fans that live north of Luton. After a short argument they let me get on a train going north to Bedford. Oh what fun. Can't remember the game itself it was that memorable....
Looking forward to the away trip next year. | |
